Defensive work a lot better tonight. Think he’ll make a great rebounding defender with time, lowered his eyes and hit up targets well. Terrific game.

I think Marley and Pittard intercepting everything helped, but would definitely be giving him the rest of the year and the preseason with the defensive group. His ball use and ability to sum up what's ahead of him quickly is seriously elite.

His ability to get boot to ball quickly and kick it 50-60 metres in the process is well suited to pressure situations.

He really improved on last week tonight. Altho it was possibly less of an improvement on the second half of last week as well so he's definitely building quickly in a new position. His ball use off the backline is unreal and his defensive work was noticeably better.

Almost impossible that he was able to see Zurhaar, given the ball was given to him on the fat side (and behind him).
Think of the Atley kick vs *. That kick was elite.

He's been a revelation at half-back now. His off a step kick exploding out of the backline was really handy and he's one of our cleanest kicks and that's what you need when theres risk of a turnover.

His defensive game is improving, slowly. But its getting there. His speed and burst is improving, looks faster than last year.

In the context of the game, it was one of his best. Scrappy fumbly game, and here he is rolling from QB one grabbing and hitting blokes lace out. His vision and ability to hit blokes on the periphery was so good. Defended real well tonight, sounds like Shaw has backed him in. Onward and upward for Paul

There was enough pressure applied by his team mates to bring out Paul's effectiveness last night.

He has 53 disposals (16 contested) and 1 tackle from his 2 games since he returned.
