However, when wrking at Safeway, I'm sure you'll be asked about it. I know a few people at Maccas with weird ass names,and they get asked about it often enough.

Nah at Safeways I gotta use my Australian name which is Joy, so yeah no confusion there! :)

Well, that'll be alright I guess. I actually didn't know it worked like that. Is it because you are not allowed to use your Jewish name, or is it something like that?? I'm just curious.

Nope... its simple.... you know how most people are born with a first name and a middle name?? well I'm the same!
When I was born in Israel my parents called me Or (it means light in Hebrew ok??? don't you people think my parents were some freaky drugged up hippies!! :D) and gave me a "christian" middle name if you like which was Joy. So when we moved here and got our passport I put my middle name as my first name just coz its easier and now I just use it for official stuff like work. But I mean everyone calls me Or, at school at home with family.... thats just what everyone calls me.
You'll find that a lot of Jewish people have a second hebrew name but they more than often use their first name instead! :) (I'm not gonna tell you Mishy's Hebrew name! LOL... I'll give ya $100 if you can pronounce is right, even she cant! ;) :p)

I was actually on the phone to a Foxtel dude coz we might be getting Foxtel and he was just talking to me while he was trying to get details etc... and I don't know how but I told him about my name too.... he sounded thrilled, I must have made his day! :rolleyes: :D
