I'd rather play the Pies coming off an away win they'd pumped themselves right up for, than the Pies having lost four in a row and desperate for a win. Probably the lesser of two evils, but there you go.

Yeah I knew what you meant, I was just ****ty because I logged on here while watching the game and you blew the result for me :p

Well, a good team can play crap and still manage to win. Thats what we did on Saturday imo. I think it was a good thing because this will give us a wake up call and get us tuned for the pies game in Melbourne on Saturday. We definately played terribly and we didnt deserve to win but we managed to win in the end so i guess thats all that matters. What is with our injuries....who will miss matches etc etc??

Played pretty poorly, out midfield was beaten but we grinded out a good win. In past years we wouldve lost that by a fair margin IMO

Need a strong FF and our midfielders fit if we wanna have a chance next week

Well done Eagles, it was a close game that could have gone either way and unfortunately for us, you guys had a couple of lucky breaks at the wrong time which turned the game in the last quarter.

Anyway, despite the end result, my first Subiaco experience was an enjoyable one. :)

Good luck next week against the Carring Bush in Melbourne.

I dont think we won the game due to lucky breaks. I think both sides were advantaged due to questionable umpiring.

The cats are a very underestimated side. Their mid field is similar to ours and probably a year away from a top six side. I was really impressed by the catters young mf. And also, King is definately the form ruckman in the comp followed by gardi.

Goodluck to your lot this week against the swans

It was a very flat performance - Geelong definately don't deserve to be bottom of the ladder, and I'd be very suprised if they remain there for too much longer.

The Eagles seemed to be missing their usual run in the midfield. Kerr and Wirrpunda was missing while Cousins didn't look 100% and perhaps should have been rested.

The forward structure once again seems to be performing beyond my expectations although we still need to find our key CHF player!

Most selfish act all day - Kingsley not passing to Ablett who was 20m clear and in front of goal. Kingsley decided to do it alone and was lucky to sneak in a behind.

I just watched the video replay of the game and we didn't play that badly, Geelong just came to bring it up to us. We have to get used to that now. IN order to beat us teams are going to start doing what we have been doing for the past 14 months or so...takeing it right up to them. Now that we are one of the top sides, people will be seriously gunning for us. Not like last year where for the first half of the season everyone penciled us in as a win both home and away.

I have to say though, IMO Chick is definite co-captain material.

The Umpires were bad both ways.

Tim Gossage was so Geelong biased I was beginning to wonder where he was from.

I take it Dean Kemp doesn't like the Eagles anymore?

Something to do with the long service leave thing?

Someone said, What do a football umpire and a lawn bowl have in common....They are both biased.

But we already have a captain and a good one at that. When Cousins got sole captaincy after Kemp retired, I knew then that we wouldnt see a new captain for at least a decade. And I for one am happy about that.
