Can't wait for another preseason or two. Will tear up the comp.
He'll be a ripper had all the talent, and the right attitude. Expect a big year, 25-30 goals.

more time playing as an outside mid if not in 2017 then definitely 2018, have to utilize that endurance/pace combo.
Bolton who has the pace but not endurance of Rioli is perfectly suited to that permanent small forward role.

really!! they mustn't watch much footy.
I've seen that one but lacks a few highlights. 1 clip from the saints game when he was BOG and missed the run and 3 bounce goal against the swans.
Played 18 games last year and maybe had in impact in three of those games. Lets wait and see how he goes before talking him up over a lacklustre first season. Reports from preseason are positive but lets see if it actually translate to games.
Don't know how poster can label C.Ellis a bust and in the same sentence label Rioli who has proven far less a future gun.

How has rioli done less than cellis? Lol
He was building into a very good second season after the Melbourne game before getting injured.
What has Rioli done, or better yet shown? Had a purple patch against Sydney and played a couple of reasonable games against Geelong and Saints.
Castagna, Short and Markov all had far better games than Rioli did last season.

Yet rioli is the one who got a rising star nomination
Which means absolutely nothing. The game Markov got snubbed was 100x better than the game Rioli got his nomination for, just so happened that another player also happened to play very well that weekend.

Markov played some good footy, although would be far closer to a "purple patch" given limited sample size.
Short? Are you talking his 3 goals or his defensive work? Please provide example of his superior play.

Rioli will and already is a better player then short, castagna
Castagna 20 touch, 2 goal game was better than any Rioli performance, a lot better in fact. Short is an elite kick of the footy, Rioli was too scared to make a difficult pass and often went the easy 15 metre sideways kick or long down the line.
Based on what? Rioli wasn't rated as a junior and so far looks very average playing senior football.
