Isn't it past your bedtime sonny?
I thought you'd already have rocked yourself to sleep in your chair. No seriously, in 40 years time I'll be nudging 70. When I talk about the Bartels, Chapmans, Coreys (plural that one) Selwoods et al, will some smart arse twentysomething in the year 2052 remark on how I'm showing my age? It will be great to tell all the kids how I lived through arguably the greatest era of our Football Club, and all the remarks in the world will just make it more special that I got to watch those guys play and younger generations didn't. Which is why it's good that we have posters like you, sarah and a few others who have been around for a considerable amount of time (on earth not this forum). Much respect! :thumbsu:

hoping we are around to read your stuff in 40 years, highly doubtful in my case at ge 96!

I think in 40 years time, 60-year-olds will be saying to each other "Remember the Internet?"

Speaking of, I kinda realised my own old age recently (I turned 30 yesterday :( )
I remember beta max.
I remember 16.6 speed modem dial up.
I remember small fat TVs.
I remember NOT having a mobile phone.
I remember when christmas day was the busiest the streets were all year, full of kids with new bikes, cricket sets, footys and other outdoor games, not many ever got video games or platforms.
I remember the atari.
I remember the C64 (jump man ROCKED).
I remember the 386 and 16kb ram.
I remember having to use a calculator and spelling checking work myself.
I remember.... I think that'll do for off topic ramblings :D

I remeber when this thread was about Geelong trading National Draft selection No. 36 to North Melbourne for Hamish McIntosh.

Pulled the pin today. Too many injuries and the body just would not go anymore.

Would have been a great thing if he'd stayed fit but alas, no dice.

Leaves the game and the GFC with possibly the least effective trade completed since the 2011 flag.

IMO, the concept to get a #1 ruckman in when we traded for him was correct. The target of that trade however did not go well.

Best of luck Hmac.
