You can't use random, unqualified stats like that to prove your point!
Further to that, Melksham had 5 clangers to Jetta's 1 (1 free against each), while Jetta had 3 goal assists to Melksham's 0. Both wound up with 0 goals and Melksham had 1 more contested possession than Jetta despite having 5 more possession than the much softer Jetta.

The only stats that matter in this thread are whether Melksham is averaging 0.2 more kicks compared to 2012.

Well, the board should they seek justification.

You think carnthedons is concerned about justifying selections to the board?

We've seen the reverse of this with Reimers and Jetta. TRB value players that contribute to the system as a whole. When they can't do it they don't get games even if their performances as individuals are good.

My thoughts on Gumbleton have been fairly consistent through-out and I still hold them.

A) Injuries have meant that he has not produced what we expected/needed from a top 2 pick
B) Irrespective of whether or not he now turns it around, he has lost 6 years of development that others around him have had
C) I don't see how Gumbleton fits long term with Hurley, Crameri and JD coming through
D) I thought Gumbleton has always shown glimpses however never to the level or consistency I would expect from pick 2.
E) I think Gumbleton is seriously over-hyped on this board.

I'm happy to stand by my opinions eth-dog and put them in black and white WHILST also respecting the views of those around me. However it shows how desperate you are in your dogged defence of Melksham that you would introduce my views on another 50/50 player as evidence.

As a side note, I have seen Gumby play 2 nice games this year and the others were average to below average. Gumby still struggles for long periods in games and looks terrible below his knees. That is not to say I don't think he has some excellent qualities and I am hoping he gets an extended run at it. I had NO problem eating humble pie and congratulating Gumby on his performances earlier this year. It's a shame you don't bother to actually read or engage in reality.

It's being way greedy, but if either Melksham or Jetta could come good this year our midfield would a fearsome thing... Kind of the final piece of the puzzle
