I keep an eye on Essendon because quite a few of my mates are Bombers supporters, and I'm usually quite critical about Melksham watching him play (probably not the only one I think). But jeez he was good tonight, the goal from the centre square was a great finish. Played very well, and was a key to the win. Probably still needs to work on his inside game a bit more, but he's getting there.

Enjoy the win :)

Hes gonna be a player guys just a hard inside midfielder like Jobe that will push forward and kick goals

Hes got what it takes.

Bartelesque the last 2 weeks, not saying hes gonna be as good by no means i dont think he will but just that type of player

Those goals he kicked were worth SO much to the game and our season. He gets a lot of credit in my books for kicking them particularly the match winner. Well done Melksham thought he was probably one of our best today.

I thought Melksham was in our top 5 today.. which is few and far between.

However there is one passage with about 2 mins to play in the 2nd quarter where he is the closest man to the ball carrier and Hibberd ran past him to lay the tackle while Jake just jogged along side.. that is the aspect he has to improve.

I think this was clearly one of his best games for the club. Don't think it quite gives him a job for life.. but very good.

This is the potential that TRB saw and hence decided to keep him in the side all this time waiting and waiting.. now Hirdy needs to tell Jakey that is the standard we're looking for and not be be happy to rest on his laurels!

Yeah.. the next step is for Jake to produce this level more often than not. Not enough just to perform to this level once or twice a season.. need this effort and intensity week in and week out.
