This is the potential that TRB saw and hence decided to keep him in the side all this time waiting and waiting.. now Hirdy needs to tell Jakey that is the standard we're looking for and not be be happy to rest on his laurels!
Hes been very good for the last 2 weeks now and before that was the sub - the rest seems to have done him wonders. People need to realize what he does more, but i agree. Hes not going to be an accumulating type just yet, he never was.

I remember reading his stats at TAC level he was very conistent constantly getting low to mid 20's then played that 26 disposal game in the final and kicked 2 goals from memory with some strong centre clearances breaking away (remind you of something tonight?)

From the team perspective you have to love him coming through in a game like that... Every time he does it his belief will grow and that belief is probably the only thing he really lacks. I haven't been a fan so far because i thought others were ahead of him, but he rewarded the faith shown in him by the TRB tonight.

hes a unique type. just kinda different to other players, dont know if its good or bad yet.

I think it's that he seems like a kinda inside, kinda outside part time tagger that sometimes kicks a goal or three. He doesn't seem to have a clearly defined role, instead he's off doing a different job each game. If he can learn to be more consistent and very damaging (to the opposition) with the ball he could become a real handful to match up on just because he's shown glimpses of being able to play quite well in a lot of different roles.

He'll win a lot more ball if only he'd lay a few more tackles.

Take a bow Jake Take a bow.

Guess he just won a 5 year reprieve from all Bomber supporters.

Who would have thought Jake (x2) being the saviours.

All I can say is **** the haters, me and Kim are vindicated!

For one week - and what an amazing time for him to play a great game. My friend who follows Richmond was watching the game with me; I told him if Melksham kicked the goal he would be my phone background for the next week.... I've never been so happy to look into Melksham's face.

Now if only he could deliver like this every week I would be over the moon!

he will be selected every week for the rest of the season based on this one game...

If Jakey can play like he did tonight more consistently and win a bit more of the ball I think he could become a similar player to what Dayne Beams is for Collingwood

When Jakey lined up for that shot on goal i told all the boys that if he kicked it, i will never talk shit about him again. And i wont. Hirdy obviously saw what he was capable of long before any of us have.
