Showed what he is capable of as the above poster said weird kind of player - deceivingly quick and evasive who can play inside/out and with damaging disposal mixed with aggression/tackling ability. Hope he continues his form

Ive been saying it for some time, but hes gonna be a player. A really solid soldier type. Not a flashy, elite kicking, line breaking, goal kicking type which i think is where people got caught up with him in regards to his junior days which i can certainly see why.

Hes still got a good kick, hes starting to really get an engine and hes got above average pace and covers the ground well now.

His overhead marking and getting to the right areas is really improving.

24 posses in a low possession game is massive, i think Zack, Jobe had 26 and Stanton 27 and he did a tagging job for a half and found 24

Huge game.... Huge!
Shows what i know about football calling for him to be dropped early on. If he continues to build or consolidates at this level then our finals prospects are greatly enhanced. How was Kommer too?! Our "weaker" players stood up. Couldn't be happier

not even close to joining the band-wagon. 2 strong games do not the player maketh.

when he stops the utter brain fades - like missing 3 gimmies the game he played before this one, I'll think of reconsidering.

tbf, he was playing injured and the one from 50 was hardly a "gimme"

He has been very good for the last month now.

Vs Sydney he seemed to go under the radar from myself watching it i thought he was very good compared to the rest of our side, very good at getting his hands on it around the clearances and from memory had the second most I50s and clearances for us and maybe disposals aswell from meory or was right up there and efficiency was good

Vs Carlton need i say anymore? kicked 3 goals had 21 from memory, big second half and had the composure to kick the match winner

Vs whoever GC was it, wasnt that great from memory, one avg game in a month against a side where we didnt need him. It seems he likes to stand up against the best and doesnt really bother against the worst. His TAC GF, vs geelong 26 posses 2 goals, 3 brownlow votes BOG shows that and this last month also. Its a positive rather then anything.

Vs Westcoast again some outstanding marks, clearances, setup a few and just looked very solid once again 24 possess shut Gaff down as much as he could in the last half with only 10 posses to him.

have to say for a while last year and early this year I was starting to wonder what attributes he actaullly posessed and had serious doubts wether he could have any meaningful role in the team going forward.

Well he has a shown a fair bit in the last month and I'm really starting to see why Hird and co have persisted with him, obviously he still has a long way to go but I feel he is making progress and really starting to impact games.

Thought he was very good last night. A bit like Stanton, he seems to get stronger as the game goes on and you really notice his work in the 3rd/4th quarters.

I can see the improvement in him, no doubting that. The day he breaks that 30 disposal mark is when I will be really satisfied. Then we will have the gun trio of this lad, Heppell and Zaka (wowee).

Is starting to turn the tide and is adding value with his contested ball. Not a true believer of him yet, but is going some way too. Has to tidy up his finishing, esp at goal, because he's def getting himself into the right spots.

Very encouraging.

I think he is showing the gradual development into a consistently good player that is expected of a guy his age. His stats have slightly improved on last year and those flashes of brilliance are becoming more long lasting. Much less brain fades. Still some way to go to prove that these couple of games are not just one offs, but there should be enough signs now to say he'll be a very good player for us in the future.

I think a few might have been to quick to jump on the whipping boy train with Melky, if he'd played 120 games and was still just showing flashes of brilliance between clangers I'd be agreeing with them. But a 70 game player deserves support from fans not derision.

Seems to me his footy brain is half brilliant and half brain fart. Watching him do anything up to and including getting the football is brialliant, runs to the right spots and works hard without the ball both ways. Watching him dispose of he ball makes me cover my face with my hands and peek through my fingers.
