Does it seem to anyone else that Stewart gets too close to the man on the mark, when kicking for goal?

I had the feel that some of the kicks he has missed of late have been skewed, almost by surprise after he comes out of the stutter with no room left.
YES! I have noticed this but never said anything (dunno why??). I agree completely though.

Yeah I've started noticing it lately and it does my head in.

I'm loving Stewart's growth. I really believe that by the time Hooker is ready to retire - Stewart will be ready to take over that second key forward spot in earnest.

He's just a smart player who can use the ball well. He plays more like a tall flanker right now but every so often you see the glimpse of the contested marking potential. To be honest though If he's kicking goals and setting them up I don't care if he does it by using his agility and hard running as opposed to contested marking. He actually provides a very nice counterpoint to Hooker who is the opposite type of player.

An absolute steal at the pick we gave for him. I reckon if he was put up for trade right now - we'd get something around pick 20 for him. Not that I'm advocating that - I'm hoping he plays his career out for us.

The one thing that he is not yet...is a match winner. Joe, Hooker, Fanta and Walla all can turn a game on its head. Hopefully at some stage he tears a game to shreds and kicks a bag. Plenty of time to keep learning...but I cant wait till he does it as it will cause more major head aches for opposition coaches trying to contain our forward line.
was he a match winner today?...stood up and took on the challenge...love it

Cannot believe we got him for nothing.

Hopefully this doesn't start the Hooker discussion in this thread too... but he really showed himself a more than capable key forward target today. Definitely could be second banana behind Joe.

Has been WAY better than I thought he would be.

Thought he would be a dud. Happy to eat alot of crow on this one.
I'm in the same boat...been terrific. When they announced that Hooker was a late out I thought to myself (in between bawling my eyes out for Cale) gees we really need Stewart to stand up...and gees he did.

If anything today showed how much we miss Hooker up forward
