It's great to see the results of a guy addressing a specific weakness - Stewart's hands looked suspect at times last year, on Friday night they were really solid.

You consider his athletic profile and start to wonder what his ceiling is. I don't know yet, but I know he'a one tough match-up.
We took a lot of marks inside 50. The three talls all did but I was surprised when I watched the replay that the three of them all dropped their fair share also. Imagine the night when everything sticks:eek:.

I'm glad we play at etihad with a roof for when the weather its crappy. It suits our fast movement and our high marking forwards.

His work in that last contest to get the ball to Begley for the sealer was brilliant. Out of position in the marking contest, bustled his way to the drop, gathered the footy, fought off two opponents and gave off a lightning handball to Begley.

Contested marks are obviously a big requirement, but that was real one-out key forward work in the contest. What a beast.

That's true, but it's worth remembering he was on Doedee (right?) a first-gamer who is roughly 8-10cm smaller than him.

Stewart's performance is very much a reminder that even when Hooker isn't bagging snags, the forward setup works brilliantly because it gives us a match-up for Stewart that's really quite advantageous.

He wasn't really on anybody in particular. I watched him play on Jacobs when Tbell was on the bench and I don't think Sauce got within 20 metres of him except at the stoppages.

Will take someone who's very tall and very athletic to beat him, but types like that aren't common and they'll usually go to Joe.

I think he was a father-son that didn't get selected, was he not?
Yep, and what's even more odd is they had picks 18, 19 and 20, yet with the rules in place at the time, could've picked him up with their next pick after 27 (where GWS nabbed him) which was 38. They basically had a free swing at him with their 4th actual pick, yet still passed.

Their loss, I guess!
