Hopefully the missing link in the forward line to allow Hooker and Hurley to do their best work down back and we can stop this rubbish talk about Cale Hooker playing full forward. Jay Shultz as a backup/coach as a delisted free agent would be the cherry on top

I'd probably say there's a bit of Joe Daniher about him looking at his highlights and draft year video:
- kicking bananas on the outside of his boot to avoid opposite foot
- dancing around blokes and nailing goals from outside 50
- playing on to avoid set shots
- playing on to kick goals around the body
- trying to kick soccer goals and missing the ball by 12.7 kilometres

Man, I ******* love Joe.

He has the potential to play and have a good impact later this season, although I would hesitate to say he will be best 22 material. The last few years, 2016 in particular, he has shown that he's too good for NEAFL but not quite at AFL standard, so some time in the VFL may help to bridge that gap. What he needs to work on is his forward play (leading, identifying space, drawing players etc.) and adding some weight to his frame so he isn't thrown around as easily. Some one-on-one coaching will really go a long way with him, I think.

If he gets on the park this year for five games and manages to average more than a goal in each, I'll be satisfied.

I think the best thing is he's another option up forward. So whoever is at playing forward will have pressure on too perform now. Where as without him were lacking numbers up forward which would allow blokes to get complacent.

Our reserves players will be used to playing in a side with a similar structure to the seniors the way I see it. We just haven't had a target i50 for most of the last 10 years.
