It just seems to have gotten more and more pronounced, with ever diminishing returns. I don't think it's working for him honestly .

At the start of the year at least, when he was still playing at AFL level, the problems were before he even started the stutter steps. He was either not going far enough back on his runup, or taking too long to start the final stage of his kicking routine (which included the stutter steps). IIRC there was one shot where he was already too close to the man on the mark when he started the stutter.
