So with Pratty playing well, and adding Rawlings to the above list, we have a selection dilemna when Scotty Mac is ready to come back.
Not at all. Play McMahon across HF or a leading forward pocket. He has all the attributes: good lead, strong overhead, footysmarts, pressure and an exceptional kick. Could easily bob up with a couple of goals each week and would compromise the sort of structure and balance we have up forward. We have always looked our most dangerous (our 3 game streak this year, our six game streak in '08) going into matches with mobility and versatility rather than two or three talls in the forward line. Having him play forward and someone like Obst/Smith/Tarrant playing in defence, means that Scott has a lot more cards up his sleeve if certain match-ups aren't working or if a certain opposition defender needs exploiting.
I can see something like this working well after McMahon finds form in the 2's:
