When did I ever question his ability or courage?
The only thing this is and should be about is his diving. This isn't the first time he's done it either (he has a long history of playing for frees), and if you think there was something glorious about his diving antics on the weekend then there really is no hope for you. You are way too blind and bias to even have a sensible discussion with.

If we were playing in a final and someone dived the way Thomas did on the weekend and kicked a goal and we lost the game you would be absolutely going ape**** like no tomorrow....you can't even deny that. You would absolutely lose your s***

There is no room in the game for diving, I don't care what guernsey they're wearing.

There is no room for cheap shots on blokes when they are coming off the ground either so why is there so much discussion about Thomas and not Cheapshot Conca?

You are forgetting the fact that it was a free kick to Thomas dive or not. James Kelly had his hands on Lindsay's back, that is a free every day of the week. I'd be livid if a defender was so stupid to not know the simple rules of the game.

He doesn't play for frees anymore than any other player in this league. He isn't even the worst on our ****ing team for crying out loud.

Mate, you wanna give away watching AFL then, as the competition is rife with blokes milking frees. Nice that youre on the band wagon though, even if the free was there- dive or no dive.

LT really needs to stop it.

He's not only embarrassing himself, he is embarrassing the entire club.

He's a bloody good player, but I would genuinely hate him if he played for another club.

I can see why so many opposition supporters can't stand him.

I don't care if Nick Riewoldt or Joel Selwood does it. I hate it. I've always hated when Thomas does it, its incredibly frustrating and takes away from the good footy he is capable of. Last year was by far his best season and the whinging/staging to umpires was very rare. This year it has crept back into his game.

Everytime he goes near the footy in the forward line or gets up from a contested situation he always has something to say or complain about to the umpires (most of the time its to do with a free kick he didn't receive for staging or throwing his head back). Stop talking, stop whinging and play footy. Umpires know what he is like and often he isn't paid genuine free kicks because of the crap he carries on with. Scott was right in saying that it takes away from how good a player he is.

In saying that, calling out one of your players in a press conference is not on. Scott should have bypassed that and to hear Grima calling him out is junk, you simply don't do that to your teammates. You deal with that shit in house.

Brad really needs to just STFU, his press conferences have become a circus with reporters and journalists knowing that he is bound to f*** up and say something he shouldn't.

Way to ignore the topic and attack me instead when you feel like you're not making any sense.

...Would you not??

Just answer the question

Thomas dives and has done so since 2007.

His defensive pressure has improved greatly but when he's on the ground he is out of the contest. This bit concerns me.

Scott defended him two year ago when this last come up. He said Thomas was a 'success story', to be celebrated.

Scott finished playing in 2006. If he has played on Thomas I'm sure he would be in his ear letting him know he dives. Thomas would probably kick 5 that night as he can play.

If Thomas stops diving then Scott and Grima have nothing to comment on.

No, as the ****ing free kick was there regardless of the dive. Now, if someone dived and received a free that wasnt there, id be furious, like i am about 50 times a week when i watch the AFL these days. Every time someone ducks, it shits me. Every time someone falls forward in a tackle, it shits me. Every time someone leads with their head and gets a free, it shits me. It happens so often now, that its normal. Umpiring is diabolical now imho.

Guess we're gonna have to disagree and leave it at that then because I don't believe for one moment when you say you wouldn't be furious if the roles were reversed....obviously speaking out of your ass

Every club has someone that accentuates contact to draw a free. It is not great, but it is what it is.

For me this is situation is symptomatic of the greater world. Agendas are pushed and finger pointing is made, while quietly shoving their own issues under the carpet. The world is full of hypocrisy, and LT is a convenient scapegoat in this situation.

Comprehension, try it some time.

I stated that i wouldnt be furious if the free kick was there- dive or not. Then went on to say that id be furious if someone dived and got a free that wasnt there. What are we disagreeing on? Do you think Kelly didnt push LT in the back? Not only did Kelly push LT in the back in that instance, but he also shoved his head into the ground. Guess what happened when he did that? **** all.

Thomas is a very good footballer. He is also an aspiring amateur actor. The two are incompatible and he needs to make a choice which career he wants to pursue.

Whilst he DID get hands in the back (for which he was duly paid the free kick), he massively exaggerated the contact such that an Oscar nomination is not beyond the realms of possibility.

LT's impromptu pantomime may well have helped him to win the free kick but has several unintended consequences ...

1. It insults the umpire since it suggests the umpire would not have given the free without Lindsay's ... assistance
2. It insults the umpire since the umpire gives the free kick but gets heckled by opposition supporters for appearing to reward a dive
3. It puts doubt in the minds of all umpires every time LT falls over. Not wanting to be seen to be taken in by a dive, the umpires will second guess themselves even when the free kick is there to be given.
4. It puts doubt in the minds of LT's team mates who aren't sure whether he will assist them in applying real pressure or whether he will suddenly forget the game and his team mates to focus on his own small acting role
5. It distracts the entire football world from his footballing genius for which he does not get enough kudos.

LT is one of my favourite players. But he's a lousy actor. His coach and his team mates would not be doing their job if they didn't call him out on it.

Dude, if you're going to have a dip at my comprehension, just make sure that in the very same post that you check your own.....otherwise you just end up looking like an absolute tool.

We're disagreeing on the fact that I think diving has no place in the game but you think it's great. Like I said though I'm done, you have your own beliefs and I have mine. Whilst I think you're wrong, you are entitled to your own opinion and I'll leave it at that.

1. They didnt need insulting on the night, they needed assaulting
2. Hard to see the umpire getting heckled when they blatantly ****ed us over for 15 minutes in the 2nd quarter, but we are discussing Cats supporters i suppose
3. They have doubt every time it comes to a NM free kick
4. Fair call
5. Agree

Disgraceful. Calling players out to the media is a dogs act.

IIRC, Boomer was in the same boat a few years ago re. staging for frees, he has got over it, so should Lindsay, just keep kicking and dishing off goals ;)

Interesting looking at the footage of Boomer being 'manhandled' at about the 2 minutes to go mark in the first quarter. Rather than fall forward or exaggerate the hold he made the ball his object. Result? Guess!

There is an old joke that is apt.

A middle aged architect is giving a speech and says: "I've given $1,000s to charity but do people call me Generous Mike, I've built nearly every building in this town but do people call me Mike the builder, but get caught once in a compromising position with a farm animal...."

Think about it.......

LOL, stop annoying me you silly man.

I dont like diving, but it happens week in, week out. What should i do about it? Should i erect a tee pee in front of AFL house until they rid the sport of diving, ducking, falling forward etc etc? LT is a NMFC player who gives his all, thats enough for be to back him to the hilt. End of story.

Is this Mike character an acquaintance of Boris the Chicken?
