I'm really glad that someone can be definitive about this. Did Alex and his wife split not long after he left the club? If so, certainly grist for the rumour mill....

He retired to save his marriage that was under pressure.
They did split after his retirement, my understanding is the retirement wa slow key in case he came back soon after but he then decided to go into a different direction, embracing the 'real world'
perhaps that has changed

I’m pretty sure it was just a stock picture of Rance at training for an article and Higgins was in the background of. Someone just jokingly said that Rance banged Higgins’ missus and off it went.
