Disapointed to hear that Cross was forced a hand in retiring and will do so as a respected player of both of our clubs. I hope Melb can get over GWS and give him the sendoff that he deserves.

I'm a bit sad about this. Leg speed declining, but what a tough solid footballer. I would have been okay with one more year for Crossey. Hope we don't stuff up embarrassingly and sod up his last game.

A seriously good player. I hoped he retired directly after us for selfish reasons and couldn't bear to see him in another jumper. However I think as a leader and mentor and still a good player that Crossy has shown Dees supporters why he was revered at the Dogs.

It was the right decision to move him on from the Dogs and where we were but at the same time was disappointed to see him go.

In my 38 years of following the Bulldogs, Crossy was the only player that commanded my respect so much as to me buying a membership for an opposing club as I did with the Demons in 2014. I'm really glad that I got to see and talk to him in Feb of last year when I visited Melbourne. I caught up with him at training and told him that I was going to buy a Demons membership in his honour. Hey, I probably would have blown the money at Crown anyway.

I'm happy that he was able to extend his career with the Dees. Thanks.

Really don't understand why we aren't offering him another year playing if he wanted to, we'd easily clear 10 players moving on without him and aside from a couple of poor games he has had a good year for us.

Yeah I don't understand why we haven't given him another year. He's likely going to finish top 5 in the b&f and it's not like we're flush with veterans ATM and in need of refreshing the list. Maybe it means we're going to target someone like adcock instead?
