For myself

I have a rotating combination of
Talls: Curnow (deep), McDonald (up field) Amartey or McLean (FWD/ Ruck)
Small: Papley (One of Rosas, Dattoli, Hanily)
HFF up ground: Campbell (Has also been training midfield)
Rotating Mid: Heeney, Warner, Rowbottom
Others: Clearly (May play pressure fwd role), Jordan (Tagging HFF), Llyod (I liked him on HFF), Blakey (Break in case of emergency)

We definitely have more space for another small in side, especially with 15 on bench now.
We're not far apart at all:
Talls: 💯. There would only be three about 20% of the time.
Smalls: I had 4 (Papley, Rosas, Dattoli, Campbell) with Campbell high and Rosas in between.
Lloyd will probably get a run but I feel he slows things down too much which is counter to how we're training.
Mid: one of the same group plus Sheldrick at any one time.
I want JJ tagging the mid (so not part of the forward line) and Campbell on the distributor.
Very similar.
A lot will depend on intraclub, Sim and preseason as to who gets the run.

For myself , i'll wait 40 odd days lol

What's your forward line? Are you 2 or 3 talls?
I personally don't have one. I will wait to see what our gameplan is before I hypothesise.

In the meantime, I think they will get more games into Dattoli in the VFL and use someone like Cootee or Cleary up forward until then.

Given he's not even in full training yet, Papley is no certainty to get an early game unless he plays in and gets through the practice matches.

They may even wait until that first Rd 3 bye

His expected to return in the next fortnight and is doing skills/ fitness training.

Will be fine for round one and a few Pre-season games

Can we please not play Cleary forward? Look I was for it last year, but the bloke was complete MIA up there. Either he gets a spot in the mid rotation or please don't play him and put the guy in the VFL in the middle. Cootee yeah fair, you don't draft a mature ager for your VFL too often he'll be in the mix.

They almost always 'blood' a new mid by playing them forward so that they can get experience with the pace of the game. They gradually introduce them to the mid rotations, but not many during their first dozen or so games. If Jesse wants that spot then he will have to be better than others there and I'm not sure he is just yet.

He was better than Cleary and he's at least natural up there. We have this dumb bad habit of playing blokes out of position and then wondering why they look terrible in said position. Yes he missed some shots but at least he got those shots last year. Honestly you were calling the Where is Wally search for Cleary last year when he played up there. I have no issue playing Cleary but as a mid. If there isn't a position that's fine he becomes the first in line depth. Lets not pretend every mid will stay fit every week. Either Dattoli or Cootee play over Cleary up forward and it's not close, as well as Rosas. There is 3 options that should be ahead before playing a bloke out of position in a role he's terrible at.

Sounds like Cootee.

Decent set of quads. I like good quads.

JackHiscoxWasFast Any thoughts?

He likes fast players.

In other works prefers strong calves (The calf is the most important muscle for that first 20m of acceleration).

Quads help with stabilisation and a full extension of the knee.

Just to clarify, wasn't clear here.

Calves are important for that initial burst/ push of acceleration (and most important for the sports I have been involved with (a.k.a fencing and the push from tennis)).

Straight line running you get that push from calves, but it's the hip flexors/ glutes to build speed and the quads help maintain it (and are more important after that initial burst).

Nool Carpenna has every reason to like quads.

Normally I wait to December or January to make a huge player breakout call.

But I’m calling it re Jesse. A full preseason, free of back injury and I reckon we could witness something very special next year. Maybe our first round recruitment redemption arc starts with Dattoli.
Wellllll……maybe not

I've heard mixed reviews about his game yesterday. Hoping that this is the correct one. We need him (and Coottee when right) to take over from the Corey Warners of our world.
I was there for the whole game a great view in the grandstand and was around about 4 AFL recruiters and they all said he was good
