Was going to say the same thing. A single goal in each game and we'd be singing his praises. The kids is allowed to be nervous to begin with. That'll settle once he puts his first through the big sticks

He's definitely been a little underwhelming, but has been more or less what I expected, and I say that as a big fan of what he's done in the ressies.

He's a long way from a complete product, he missed the preseason, he's off the pace, even in ressies he struggles to run out a full game. It's no surprise he's struggling to impact at senior level. But he's got tons of potential, with a full preseason behind him next year he'll have a much better base to launch off, and these games he's playing at the end of our season will stand him in really good stead for years to come.

We aren't playing finals, so not all selections are based on the best team on the day. Have some patience and recognise that it's less about output right now.

Not watching the game but looking at his heart map today, looks like he's pushing hard up the field. Has he been to two centre bounces? Or just pushed up to the square?

Given where the season is at he should get another game. Good experience for him, shown a few glimpses but if we were in the hunt for a top 8 spot he’d be in the reserves. He’s just not quite ready.

He's only 19. Plenty of time to develop.

He's struggled the past 2 weeks but I thought his first game was pretty decent. A couple more preseasons and I could see him being a regular senior player.

Give Dattoli one more game against West Coast. If he still doesn't hit the scoreboard he clearly needs more development and I can't see how he justifies another game this season.

I wish we'd give some of these fringe guys more structure to their role. I know its harder in modern footy - but Buller has done well because his role has been clear in the team. Dattoli should be stuck in a pocket, or stuck on the HFF and told to stay there, and play that role and that role alone. From what I could see yesterday on the telecast, he just seemed to be wandering around, unsure what role he was meant to be playing. Give them structure and let them concentrate on playing a really clear, defined role for the team.

Normally I wait to December or January to make a huge player breakout call.

But I’m calling it re Jesse. A full preseason, free of back injury and I reckon we could witness something very special next year. Maybe our first round recruitment redemption arc starts with Dattoli.
