Was beaten by Melksham early a few times and was blowing up a bit. Think Melksham had him well covered aerobically but Hurls worked his way into the game brilliantly.

Someone mentioned that it looked as if Hurley had lost a bit weight, even last year, and I agree. There was a time when Hurley looked twice the size of Jake Melksham. Melk now looks to have the same physical build as Hurley and was able to compete with his weight and beat him at times as well. At one point I actually remember thinking Melksham is one of Melbourne's most important players. He always looks likely when he takes possession.

Seemed as if Francis played mostly on the Weid.
I thought so, and shut Weide down as well.

Rock of gibraltar in that last quarter.

Made intercept after intercept and barely lost a 1 on 1 contest.
Amazed by the amount of people who write him off at the start of the every year.

I had him as our 5th best player today with not much difference from 3rd to 5th. He was a rock back there. You can just tell Hurley loves having Hooker in the team and just knowing what to expect from his partner in crime. I think it just gives him that extra bit of confidence whereas he's still learning Francis's game and obviously Francis is still developing.
