Just watching a replay and Atley beating Hurley in a wrestle seemed to give Atley the confidence to say "I'm big and strong enough to do more than just play, I can really take this game on and beat anyone". Just needs to believe in himself.

As neat as his acceleration looked to move the ball to the fwd line.. HE STILL BUTCHERED the KICK!!:drunk::straining:

And if it wasn't for Goldy to strip the ball from the possession of a Bummer.. North wouldn't have kept the ball in the fwd line.

If I were in charge… Atley's skills would be 'AFL standard' thru sheer practise, practise, practise.. not video f*** games these kids are playing too often to chill out.

Let's not pretend we have any idea how they are professionally trained.

I was surprised in the last quarter when Ziebell absolutely torched him. Atley would have ran it right through the square for a shot.
The most filthy I've been with Ziebell in a long time.

Ats is really applying himself - got mad at Goldy too when the big man failed to knock the ball over the line which resulted in a scoring shot (probably his only blemish for the night).

Loving what I'm seeing. When he burned whoever it was off along the members wing - twas glorious; needs to re-find the kicking skill from a couple of seasons ago.

No need to take 2 bounces in the first 10 metres Shaun, when you are barely out of 1st gear, put the foot down like Isaac Smith, or Steven Hill etc and get some separation, which then gives you time to steady, and assess options, and also team mates get a chance to present options

I think Atleys poor kicking has a lot to do with the fact we have no forward leading towards him, demanding the ball.
My bet Atley would nail, nine out of ten kicks like that at training. You get into a game and too many of our forwards give him these ones

You can give him another wrap this week. His best game of the year.
As I said a week or so ago, he could stand their rubbing his nipples all game and I'd give him a wrap :p

But yeah, very happy to see it seemingly becoming consistent.
