the side heavily reflects on their 1s side. i know injuries is not an excuse but lately they have finished matches with no bench and have simply run out of legs. plus the 1s moving up players into the senior side doesnt help the 2s. but to their credit, they played with real heart yesterday even though they had a lot of their big names out including the captain
it would be too hard to name a red side because from bernards, xavs, de la, and rupo, anyone who begins to perform will move into the 1s

Bernies played with half a side yesterday, they had a number of injuries from last week, and then lost 6 players to the ones, leaving under 17's to fill in. best win on the weekend for the year. when the side is set at finals time they will cause some serious headaches

im sick of these 1's sides saying they have injury worries and shit. The 2's teams in this comp feel the effects 100 times more than u blokes as 22 players are playing in their one's side already! Just hoping that bernads, de la and xavs get blokes back soon as they could do some serious embarrassing of these 1's teams who have their TOP 22 out there.

caught the Xavs v Westbourne game on saturday, although Westbourne were much better on the day, i couldnt help but notice that either the Xavs player refuse to man up or are very poorly coached. Westbourne were winning the ball out of the centre all day and not once did Xavs man up in the middle, they just kept attacking and running forward of the footy, which made it even easier for OW to run the ball out.
Also the guy who was kicking out from full back kept kicking the ball to the Westbourne ruckman who had hardly dropped a mark all day. In the end it may not have mattered much, but i think the margin may have been far less had Old Xavs paid some respect to their opposition, especially since they needed the win to make finals.

ok with the exception of fitzroy who generally refuse to play unders players in "the senior" side the other so called 1's sides of the competition - NOBS, THERRY, St LEOS and WESTBOURNE have just about any quality players playing in their senior side, these clubs are in the lower divisions of the VAFA with NOBS at the bottom of C grade, therry on the bottom of D1 and st leos and westbourne in D2 i think, thus making senior selection alot easier for unders of these teams and hence if injuries hit these senior teams then 19's are generally taken over reserves players
so please dont give us this stuff about how us 1's teams are complaining we are in the same boat hence DIV NORTH, comprende?
and on this under 17's thing - half the therry side is under 17's so again don't give us this shit like you were all undermanned

Not true, with 5 teams we have enough to cover for the seniors, and the 19 players when asked to play seniors generally refuse because they would rather play with their mates
it makes a huge difference when you play with the same guys week in week out. so with the side constantly changing for the worst i think we were undermanned

Thats super, go therry. You have the advantage, although there under 17, of playing with each other all year and knowing how each other works. We didnt, that was the first time we had a few of those boys, and its pretty hard winning a game when you start from scratch and have to find some level of cohesion. the point is, bernards, ox, de la, etc would not have had the same side in all year, and only now have the sides really been set in stone.

Lee and Mcmullin are the best full back/chb in the comp by far and id also have Cheshire as a rover, best clearance player at the reds
interesing game down at JP yest. the therry boys came out very flat and xavs had all the run of the play for the first half, going in harder for the ball than the lions. however the private school boys arrogance got the better of them after a few overzelous celebrations for goals kicked in the second quarter (no.34), they were soon shown that a game of footy isn't won in a half and then therry went on to kick 8 on the trot in the 3rd (unassisted by wind) after winning the hard ball and exposing xavs front running type of play. Number 10 is Xavs best player by a mile the rest of them are 2nd string players, Grigoriadis was shown up by a decent/smart opponent and even if they do somehow make finals they won't get past the first week

Lugg 1 goal in 12 games? Leddin (STB) 22 in 11, leads up the ground, very strong mark, huge leap. and can play midfield as well

ummm i said the rest of them are 2nd string players, didn't say they look like they are
hence obviously they are but also i mentioned no.10 is a gun - pretty much meaning he is not a second string player
therry penola failed to seal the deal on some very key signings at the start of the year and may have cost themselves a top 4 birth, hang there heads for lettin em slip
