Had talent but was just rocked of confidence and the start of this year. Poor decision making etc.

Shaun was told today that he would be delisted from the club. He has fairly strong interest from at least four other AFL clubs so see what happens I suppose.

If that's the case then we should put him up for trade get what ever pick we can.

"Essendon would like to thank Shaun Edwards for his dedication and professionalism during his three seasons at the Club.

Edwards was today informed his contract would not be extended next season.

General Manager – Football, Rob Kerr, thanked the 22-year-old for his commitment and service since arriving at the Club.

“Shaun is a wonderful young man who was not only committed to the performance and success of the Club, but also showed great leadership with his work in the community as recognised by his Bill Hutchison Community Award this year,” Kerr said.

“Shaun is a great role model who constantly strives to make a difference both on and off the field.

“He is well respected by his teammates and will always be welcome at Essendon. On behalf of everyone at the Club we wish him all the very best for his future.”

Edwards was traded to the Club at the end of 2013. He made his debut with the Bombers in Round 11, 2015 against West Coast and went on to play 12 games in the red and black."

Just doesnt have enough AFL traits. Not as fast as he thinks he is and sells himself into trouble.

Hasnt improved 1 bit in the last 3 years at any level

That goal on the run against Melbourne last year from 55-60 out was something that not everyone could do! A lot of his highlights were things others couldn't do, just a shame he couldn't get the basics right.

Shaun has probably known for a while now that he wouldn't be offered a new contract, but he got the message from Essendon today that confirmed his fate.

Anyone feel like he lost us the VFL final? man, he did about 3 selfish kicks on goal in the 3rd. I felt like he could have slowed down and passed to someone in a better possie.. and now i hear he knew he was delisted... makes me wonder if he was playing for himself to get a shot somewhere else...
