Point us to an equivalent one that got 4 weeks.
No player has been stupid enough to do it in recent times and even if there was precedent takes no account for the tribunal

In 2021 Paddy McCartin was suspended for 5 weeks for punching a guy in the face full force and concussing him way behind play in the VFL.

This would not even be anywhere near that level of punishment if consistent because Lynch barely made any contact with the head and the player was totally unharmed.

Mate you are bringing up an incident from 4 years ago
The AFL’s view towards contact with the head has changed dramatically

Get with the times and come to grips with it now
It will save you a lot of posts

No it hasn't. Concussion was well known to be a massive issue at that time, not least due to McCartin's own issues with it. This is not the 1970's we are talking about.

But the thing here is Lynch has barely made any contact with the head, and done no discernible damage. So I don't know why protection of the head comes into this incident, certainly not in relation to concussion.

Of course it comes into play
The AFL don’t want to see its players swinging fists and making contact with players heads especially if it’s not a football act

They don’t want that action in the game, and for the most part they have been successful in limiting incidents like this

They are going to further drill in that message by giving Lynch a decent chunk of time off

No point trying to defend it, let’s just leave it here and you can act all outraged tomorrow when anyone with a little bit of common sense could see it being the outcome

I am not defending what he did. I am trying to put some proper perspective on it.

This was worth 5 weeks 4 years ago....

Sonsie in 2023 got 3 weeks for this in 2023, probably similar sort of impact but the player wasn't illegally holding him prior...

So your 4 weeks for Lynch looks out of step with both of those imo.

This is the other one they're talking about... nothing in it, in my opinion, as Lynch was just changing direction and he only dragged the side of his boot up Worrell's head.

if that wasnt Lynch, he would get away with it, his head didnt look like he was looking down towards his feet.
But because he is a sniper well.......

It doesn’t matter
They are from years ago and precedent doesn’t apply with the AFL tribunal

That’s just how it is for better or worse no point trying to trick ourselves into thinking otherwise

2021 and 2023 is not years ago. Both occurred in the stand rule era.
Hate to break it to you stand rule era isn’t a metric used when handing down punishments

If we look at this year anything that has involved the head has seen suspensions on the higher range
This will be the same
