Lynch has earned every dime he got paid

Selected Richmond over Collingwood & Hawthorn taking $200k less to join Richmond
Was a back ended contract due to our stars getting their money and his last year ended up $1.400,000 but early years was $700k when he was worth $1,000,000

Without Lynch we dont win 2019 & 2020 flags

He has earned every dime
We definitely don't win in 2019 without his 5 goal prelim final haul. Worth every cent for that game alone.

Provides that contest up forward for us and still does some smart things when the ball hits the ground. I like our young talls learning off him.
this

we also had a target down the line unlike last week. the amount of time last week we had to over posses because our forwards weren’t in position or Andrew was sitting on the hole was countless. he provides this contest and is showing Harry Sims and Co where they need to be

Lynch has two big assets we require,

First, directing forward positioning and leading routes to our new young forwards and

second, providing a battering ram to protect the developing bodies of our key forwards.

Yes he is passed his prime and on his last legs but being a battering ram will be invaluable especially for Faull and Armstrong in their second year both who have already impressed.

.

Yes he looks slow and well past it, but if he can somehow start converting better than he has, he can still contribute 30-40 goals a season IMO.

Needs a new radar for his right foot

Accuracy been diabolical this year, including his field kicking
He needs Jonty Faull to take him out and do some goal kicking drills. Aside from that he got five gettable kicks at goal vs the eminently beatable saints and he’s a must in the same role for the north game.

Bugg will be over the moon.
Moved better on Saturday but really worry how many games he can play at a respectable level next year. Unless we have a lot injuries again he will keep guys like Gray, Sims and Fawcett out even if he is playing poorly (coz they will play him if not totally injured). I am ok with decision on balance if he plays VFL if not making enough contribution and McIntosh is not on list (would have preferred Prestia not to play either).

It was deflating watching him go through the motions. He can't even bend down far enough to pick the ball up, not that the effort wasn't there, just his body giving up. Surely he can't go on next season.

The wind was shocking against the Dee's he could've ended up with a bag. He finished the season really strongly. He needs to work on his set shots but with some luck with his body holding up im backing him in for a 60 goal season. Will be a great mentor and foil for the kids hopefully can stick around til 2028?

Only seen one Rnd with the new rules but with the ball coming in quick fwds who can mark on the lead are getting it a bit more often I reckon.
He could do it all when he was healthy hopefully he can get a couple and point and shoot with Faull, Armstrong and Fawcett.
He was the best fwd in the game for awhile.
You don’t just forget how to play.

Rightfully a legend for that match alone which propelled us deep into the Finals...
Hopefully in his twilight years he adds/displays his game experience to the other youngsters up forward...
And the occassional left hook...

Tom has slowed down a bit and to me seems to have lost some of his clunking a mark ability - perhaps just a symptom of his disrupted recent seasons - 24 games in 3 years, I dunno

Hope he can discover some of his best form and have a Gunston type season.

Beauty about Tom is he will get the best KPD in the opposition side which allows faull & Armstrong some freedom and space to move and learn whilst still 19 years old.

Lynch is priceless for these boys and i still expect Lynch to kick 40 goals this season

I’m looking forward to seeing how he’s moving. At the end of last year, he moved better than I’ve seen him move in years. He could surprise a few.

Tom Lynch is a smart player and he will eek out goals at AFL level

Taylor Walker is not a great mover neither was Hawkins but the good players know how to get goals on the defenders that are not elite. Wetering will wear him like a glove and Lynch could struggle to get goals in tonight's game but that releases kids like Harry & Jonty to atleast have freedom

If Lynch stays fit, doesn't whack guys, and kicks straight (all sort of possible maybe) he could go very well this year. Especially if we can give him some good delivery.

But I won't be holding my breath. What I hope for is that he keeps the monsters off our younger KPFs, and does enough to be worth the spot.

Im only expecting him to play 15 games this year and be rested 2-3 games and suspended 2-3 games and injured 2-3 games

Tommy will be better for the run...if fact the whole side was a tad rusty and underdone...
And side not helped with some strange pick of players...
Reckon if he avoids injury will have a stellar year...

Could have been 15% of the way there already if he didn't kick like a complete penis

Just terrible, we cant give this guys any slack now, he is supposed to be setting the example for the young guys.
I wouldn’t call 12 possessions, 11 of which were kicks, 6 marks, 4 tackles and 9 scoring shots terrible. It’s not a problem if he kicked straight and that’s all you’re basing your opinion on.
