It would have been easier if we had taken him with the SPS pick as we were rumoured to be interested at the time. Good pick up. 4 of the pick ups will add more dash to the side

Think Will is going to give us exactly what we hoped we'd get from Martin...but for more than 6 games a year.

Something that stands out (and I know...they're highlights), but it seems that when he's inside 50m, if he can get 2-3 paces with the ball that's all he needs to steady and snap, and a lot of those snaps the umpire barely has to move to watch it sail over his head.

We've improved a bit in this area, but we still over-use the ball when we're inside 50. We've always carried forwards who didn't want to take the shot themselves, didn't back themselves, didn't recognise when their chance was better than the one they'd be creating by handballing to a teammate under pressure or centering to a contest with poor representation. Hayward and Ainsworth both should help in this regard, and I'm hoping that flows on to guys like Motlop, Williams, Evans, Cottrell, White, Young, Lord etc. who can, at times, be far too selfless (to the point of timidness) around goals.

Let's get a bit of confidence and strut back in that forward mix - every week, not just against West Coast
