It’s pathetic

Did we budget for just the 100 year THURSDAY night extravaganza?

Shut up and buy an Autorenew membership
The celebrations for the 100 year anniversary were meant to take place when we played Geelong. But now it’s the Bulldogs. We couldn’t convince AFL House to give us a prime time game against The Cats. The first team we played in the VFL. And ā€œAgentā€ Kanes was meant to be our leg up down at Headquarters. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

The current admin appears to have no sense of occasion. An understanding of our history. A history that should be celebrated with meaning. Like a home game against the Hawks who we deafened in 1975 to win our first Premiership. We play the Hawks away in the MAP. Ge that ā€œAgentā€ Kanes has really been of benefit to us. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

I know when it was to take place and am filthy as any Country or Interstate supporter who wanted to attend the now Thursday debacle.

Maybe there will be a Ex players parade of the 4 Flag Teams that won’t be shown on Kayo live but appear on North Media 24 hours later
😩

Got a funny feeling the club is feverishly preparing for the 5 year anniversary celebrations of our first AFLW flag.
Priorities.

I would have thought celebrating the 50th anniversary of our first ever premiership would have been the #1 priority this year.

Obviously I'm mistaken, just like when us members chipped in $$$$ & had our names included on the memorial at the front of the room; and then dumped at the tip afterwards.

The clubs lucky we are a loyal bunch, if they weren't a football team, they'd have gone under years ago the way the treat us.

Laura Kane is a useless idiot has no idea and she wouldn’t give a šŸ’© about the NMFC and if any North supporter thinks people like her or the AFL would do this club any favours wake Up.
But the good thing is the AFL need us as to them we are their Whipping Boy and our incompetent Board can’t see that.

Huh? We play the Cats 7.30pm prime time Saturday night in Round 20. It wouldn't be broadcast on Channel 7.
Is your argument it should've been Friday night against the Cats?

Fair point about the 50 year celebration of the first flag though.

Now mate you know that this is factually untrue.

It’s multiple administrations now.

What’s 150 years? Dunno do a list or something and throw a dinner with a months notice.

Least I gots to shake Duck’s hand and thank Ron Joseph for everything that night.

Oh and the pissed off look on Brown’s face when Carey was named our best all time was more fury than he ever showed on a footy field.

I cannot argue with you there mate. :stern look

All flags especially the 1st should be great night especially when it’s 50 years also this year for those who care 30 years since we won the reserves flag in 1995 and next year when we won the double senior and reserves flags in the AFL Centenary Flags

If the club wanted the game against the Cats to be a Free to Air Game, then they should’ve made it a top priority in their fixture preferences. Pushed for it to be early in the season so it was set for a Thursday or Friday Night. Or even a Sunday afternoon. But be damned with History and celebrating our 100th year in this competition against the side we played first. Change your mind the Dogs will do. As for the 50th Anniversary Celebrations after winning our first flag in 1975. Crickets. A very important part of our history. This Club. Seriously it has been highjacked by bananas who don’t understand or care for the history of this great club. :stern look

That's fair. But you didn't mention free-to-air. Fire off an angry letter From Zondors.

Hold on, I'm confused. I swear a few weeks ago I saw that our centenary celebrations were against the Cats, first game we played in the VFL, like Hawks had theirs against Richmond, first team they played. Footscray played Fitzroy first so did theirs against Collingwood.
Has it now changed to the Bulldogs game? Why?

I dunno mate, it's another one for Robert Stack. He'd be full time at NMFC if he was still with us. God bless his sole.

Imagine the mysteries he could cover in his trench coat & 12 fog machines going flat out at night on Arden St:

1. The signing of Biggy
2. The signing & contract extension of Mahony
3. The contract extension of RHJ
4. The CCJ trade
5. The C Daniel trade
6. The J Edwards selection
7. The Logue/Tucker compensation picks
8. The JHF trade
9. Winning Round 24 vs GC to cost us pick 1
10. The handling of the T Thomas fiasco
11. The obsession with dud father-son selections
12. Brady Rawlings continued employment
13. The obsession with sub 6 foot mids/defenders
14. The obsession with slow small forwards
15. The use of pick 4 on Duursma

I could go on.

You'd get 2-3 seasons of episodes easy.

Don't really see the attraction of a Thursday night "blockbuster" vs a Saturday night game. Personally, would have preferred the historical ties (especially since we won that game in a boil over). Oh well

I'll give you about half of those as mysteries requiring an explanation. And the explanation is we try too hard to be cute.
We're shit, just follow the formula of successful teams. When (if) we're up and about again, then we might try the occasional left field manoeuvre.

Was that it for 1975 anniversary celebrations? A chance to have a picture with the cup? I'm loathe to mention it given some of the cretins on here, but rates below Bollywood dancing - gate 2 and gate 5, no mention of where to get your photo with the cup.

But more importantly, how are you enjoying the improved gameday experiences? And can you name our sponsors?

I don’t know what all the carry on is about the club has done the 50 year anniversary proud by having the ā€œunmarkedā€ Grieg and Schimmelbusch ends at Marvel.
