Maybe your childhood is a blur but mine isnt - I vividly remember the who shot mr burns hype and how we had to wait all summer to find out - except i already knew because i was cool lol.

i would say being born in 83 would make you a teenager in the 90s - and its not like i was born in 93 - i was born in 89 so like i said, i can remember things from pretty much 93 onwards.

and like that other guy said, if were not children of the 90s then we must be children of the 2000s which obviously were not - ive been a teenager for almost the entirety of this decade. therefore were children of the 90s.

were just as capable of having nostalgic feelings of the 90s as everyone else is, if not more since for most people childhood memories are happy ones so why wouldnt we have tonnes of greats things to reminise about.

have a look at the facebook group that basically somes up our childhood in the awesome 90s - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2336048220

although some of them are general memories that everyone has, some of them are very 90s specific

Der.. I didn't say you weren't a kid of the 90s.

Just said that you wouldn't be able to remember the first half of it.

I've seen the face book stuff..

And it ranges sooooooo far....

I grew up on Ninja Turtles.

Ninja Turtles stopped being cool. There was nothing REALLY popular for a little while. Then there was Power Rangers.

But kids who loved Turtles didn't love Power Rangers. That would have been like watching Play School.

Yet those facebook things incorporates both.

Does that make sense? My neck hurts so I'm gonna stop typing :)

I loved both - Ninja Turtles were the coolest things ever, i remember i really really really wanted ninja turtle underwear because all my cousins had them but my parents said they didnt make them for girls (in case you havent realised yet, i am a girl) but then i loved the power rangers, especially the pink one obviously. i guess i must have been the perfect age for both

Congratulations LtD this is officially the 450th thread you've mentioned Oasis in.

I reckon,

I'm surprised that he even had time to post on BF with all the time he must spend on the 'I Luv Oasis & want to marry 1 of the Gallaghers' websites.

They weren't even that good FFS

Played this alot in the 90s.

I was born in 1973... I feel so old. "70's nostalgia" isn't something I experience because I was A CHILD and at the time childhood entertainment was Play School, Sesame Street and all those recycled 60's cartoons with 5 minute episodes like Iron Man, Thor etc.

Actually nostalgia as a whole isn't big for me. Old stuff is OLD for a reason. People got tired of it and it was never that good to begin with. Except Knight Rider. Knight Rider is totally rad.

One day there will be people posting on BigFooty who were not even alive when I started it. Freaky...

I was born in 1985, I can't remember the 80s at all and even the early 90s are a blur (I have a terrible memory!)

I absolutely loved that show A*mazing. That was the best show ever. Those losers could never find all the keys. IN THE POTS! Der. I was also big on the Ninja Turtles, Saturday Disney and hypercolour t-shirts. I hated the Power Rangers with a passion, still do.

Music-wise, I have to say that Pearl Jam were (and still are) the best!

Wasn't it funny how sometimes they'd play arcade driving games at the end of the show to earn points for their school? Nowadays kids' game shows like "It's Academic" is pretty straight-laced & generic compared to shows like A*mazing.

When I think of the 90's I think of the popularity of basketball, particularly in the early to mid 90's.
I still have tapes of "NBA Action" highlights packages that was on Sundays back in the 90s!

Also, extreme sports were big in the late 90s, with Xtreme Games being broadcast on FTA, and kids in Kmart trying on rollerblades all over the place, and kids trying to ollie on skateboards inside the store.

The very best bit of that show was when one school had a rather large child and they didn't have overalls big enough, so they are standing there just in shorts and a rather large t shirt.

I gave James Sherry a spray at a Storm game one night for never having Victorian schools on it.

the used to always have the keys on amazing on top of the car tire (still on the car) and hardly anyone realised. I remember thinking surely they've watched the show before?

Also I'm born in 90 - I remember from about 97 onwards relatively ok. have very scattered memories before it, but still remember a few things.

so question is do I constitute a 90's child??? lol

Thing that gets me is that if i think back 10 years ago in 1998 things don't seem to be all that dated. I still remember watching the Crows, Mcleod, Goodwin, Edwards and so forth, guys still running around now. Music doesn't sound ridculously old etc.

But if I compare back in 1998 when thinking of 1988, everything seemed old, bad 80's fashion and music, no internet, footy players I had never heard of etc.

Maybe the difference between being 5 to 15 is much bigger than going from 15 to 25 in which the last 10 years have gone so fast it's not funny.

noone has mentioned NIRVANA!!

I was born during Ash Wednesday bushfires '83. I can only remember bits and pieces of the 80's. I remember watching the Seoel olympics in 88. I remember watching Alf. The Ninja Turtles came out in 89 i think. So that poster SEAR who states she remembers it when they came out obviously has an amazing memory, in that she was like two or whatever at the time.

However the nineties is a different story. NES into Super Nintendo was a big step, as was its battle with the Mega Drive. I remember the first episode of the Simpsons on tv, it was a sunday night and it was huge. The hawthorn vs. geelong vs WCE battles were epic. the original gameboy was aweseom with its green screen and all.

fashions were interesting too. Kuta Lines was a big brand, as was Hot Buttered and Piping Hot hadnt sold out to Target yet either. Kids were wearing those stupid Starter beanies that sat about a foot above their heads. Nike air Huraches and Oakley frogskins. I could go on forever.

1990, 4pm weekday afternoons on Seven.

Bart the Genius....have seen that episode so many times I know all the dialogue. It was also a double episode, the second one was supposed to be Homer's Odyssey according to the TV Guides, but instead we got the Marvin Monroe episode where the family buzzes eachother and pawn their TV, but get it back in the end. That same night, Channel 7 aired "Young Einstein" starring Yahoo Serious.

I have a ridiculously good memory.
