I only watched Seinfeld all the way through last year (had seen maybe 20 or so random eps growing up), and then after seeing the quoted ep I found out that Jason Alexander is actually an accomplished vocalist (I think he started on the stage). He had to deliberately sing poorly for that recording to match his character.
