At the last ODI World Cup, England went in with a game plan that was 20 years out of date because of total incompetence.

Australia right now are trying a few things in the build up to the World Cup with the knowledge that they have 2 world class batsmen to slip into the mix.

Don’t panic.

You mean the game plan we are using now?

The failure of Khawaja to score a single of the other 5 balls in that over is symptomatic of why he should never be in the ODI lineup in the first place.

I'm fine with it. He is used to opening in limited over cricket. The issue with the order they have picked is Handscomb.

Averaging 29 in his first class domestic career with 5 half centuries. When he inevitably fails often he will put pressure on the middle order

You’d expect 150+ in the last 20 with so many wickets in hand so 300 is still in play. Looks like these two are going to make a move now.

Handscomb selection looks a bit strange right now. With the top 4 they selected it’s like they’ve planned to be two down after 30 overs. Think Maxwell, Stoinis, Turner makes more sense from that position than Handscomb, Stoinis, Maxwell.
