To be fair to John, his sole test wicket is AB de Villiers...so in some ways he's the real winner.

But yes very true, a sub 30 average doesn't equate to world class fast bowler. Especially when you're sending down 120km mediums.

Works for Philander and he raped us.

When you take into account all three forms, our domestic scene is started to resemble England in the 80s, and 90s with every second player having been called up at some point.

By my reckoning there are at least sixty four players currently contracted to shield sides who have represented Australia at international level.

The Big Bash adds ten more but includes guys like Johnson, Haddin and Watson with pretty extensive international career.

But 64 players over 6 shield sides is well and truly every second player.

About 40 of those 64 have played tests but only 8 have played 20 tests and 23 have played 5 or fewer tests.

Please, both are. Sarc is an ordinary long form bowler as has been proved time and time again.

Horseshit. Sayers better than Starc.
Put the pipe down. That's completely ludicrous.

South Africa and England the well known minnows. It's a shame Sri Lanka are such minnows too when our other bowlers couldn't buy a wicket over there and they flogged us 3-0.
His record against RSA and England is terrible and makes him look like a grade cricketer,

He averages 28.7 against South Africa and 31.2 against England in test cricket.

Steyn also averages 31 against England
