Former Geelong, St Kilda, Brisbane and Fremantle midfielder Adrian Fletcher is training with the Magpies, hoping to be picked up by a fifth club in the pre-season draft, while former West Coast and
Malthouse-coached pair Jaxon Crabb and David Antonowicz are also doing the pre-season at Collingwood

Antonowicz wont be picked up
Jaxon has a very slim chance - he had some solid games with us before being delist

Adrian Fletcher on the other hand could offer them something. Ever since he was delisted i thought it was a strange move as he still has a good year or two in him

Jaxon Crabb had a very good season in the WAFL and I think he would be an asset to any team. He may get in over fletcher as he is still relatively young!
Good to hear he may get another chance.

Jaxon Crabb played some solid games for us before being delisted. I still wonder why we got rid of someone who looked like starting to mature and step up....

When it comes to delisting or trading young players who showed promise we are not as bad as the Dockers. But on the same basis the Eagles havent really given the young kids a chance to prove themselves. It always amazes me than a kid that shows so much promise can be thrown on the Footy scrapheap before he is fully matured. Mentally and physically. That is one of the detrimental things of the sytem and the salary cap. Not many get a second chance,

GO EAGLES!

Belotti did look promising in his first year, although since being delisted he hasn't shown too much for Claremont & West Perth. Jaxon Crabb had an ace year in the WAFL - he showed that he's really matured as a footballer and he has natural skills, not such a hack anymore.

Bellotti is another, he won "best 1st year player" with us then got delisted the following year.
i remember the game against the western bulldogs where Bellotti beat Chris Grant. After the game Malthouse was praising him and telling everyone how experience will make him even better etc etc

then we delist him

I suppose it depends on the type of player they are after, Malthouse would know a fair bit about both and it would'nt be the first time a delisted player bobs up at another club.
Rupert Betheras is an example of right time right place.

Crabb was very unlucky to be de-listed, especially seeing how we kept Wooden. Could be a very handy pick-up.

Antonowicz was fantastic for East Perth in 2000.
Unfortunately he injured his knee badly this year, and couldn't make his mark.

Best of luck to both of them.

Crabb looked really good in the WAFL this year - I think the slower pace gives him the chance to take a little more time and kick accurately. I'd say he'd be a chance, though I couldn't see them taking both him and Fletcher, so it'll depend on whether Collingwood want a player for 1 or 2 seasons as a filler or think that Jaxon can step up over 4 or 5 seasons.

Antonowitz had a knee reconstruction when we drafted him and always seemed to get injured at the crucial moment. He didn't seem to develop much with the Eagles - maybe with a Victorian club he can do it, but I doubt it.

Add Scotty Cummings to that list. Pies are paying his airfare and accomodation.

I agree about Crabb. Delisting him and signing Harding was crazy.
I thought Wooden was choppable then too until I saw him play a blinder in the WAFL (Westar then) grand final.

Yep Frods, rumour has it Collingwood are serious about making Cummings an offer if he trains well. I had a good laugh when I saw the headline in the paper today "Cummings Tries Pies"... what, you mean he's never had a pie before in his life? I bet they take up his entire fridge!
