Does that mean we should be expecting him back around the Anzac day match?
Also, in hindsight, do you think the club would've got Jolly?
But on the flipside, (although I haven't seen him play) Thurlow could really grasp this opportunity.
Does anyone know much about this kid? Do you think he is ready for the challenge?

It's a month and a half away from season start, so yes

I think the club would be miserable, there's nothing to be jolly about. And in terms of on-field we'd be better off making TBC wait the whole season for surgery and play on one ankle than pick someone clearly past it.

Does this mean we LTI him now so we can upgrade a rookie and bring him back round 4 or whenever he is ready??

Damn :( Paddy Ryder to carry the bulk of the ruck load. Daniher only to ruck when Paddy needs a breather.

Play Thurlow in the ruck for the pre-season matches and see what he is like

Yep I agree with Paddy to ruck majority. We can play Carlisle forward with Daniher and they can do some ruck work between them.

As ethdog said it wont necessarily be Thurlow promoted. Ambrose or Steinburg are in line too. The club will be playing all three in the preseason to get a gauge on who it should be, though Thurlow obviously has the box seat.

If Paddy stays fit he does add a lot of speed to our midfield!

But but but........bigfooty promised only 1 month.

Timing could have been better, but could also have been much worse.

All the best to the big guy. Much prefer the precautionary approach with him.

It will be interesting to see whether T-Bell is placed on the LTR ( seems a given ) - 3 months takes him through to the 2nd last week in April, so in affect it gives an upgraded player 5 rounds to prove their wealth.

Anyway its a great chance for JD to prove himself - Having to spend minutes in the ruck can only benefit him as a forward - Take less pressure off him as a forward. It's an opportunity to trial a more mobile forward line.

Re the rookie upgrade, if I recall correctly, it must be a 12 week injury in order to put someone on the "long term" injury list and replace them.

We would be tossing up whether we might need Thurlow (eg if Paddy were to be injured, even for a short term), or whether we might think Steinberg is worth a game.
However, if we delay (eg to see pre-season form), does it mean the 12 wks out for TBell starts from the time we nominate an uprgrade? If so, we need to act straight away, it we want TBell back in the minimum of 12wks.
Is this right?

I'm pretty sure a player must miss at least 8 games to be put on the long term injury list, Bellchambers is unlikely to miss that many.
