If I was the captain I would have gone straight to the bowler and told him to aim it full and straight at the stumps. If the batsmen is that far across and still manages to put the straight yorker away fair play to him.

Cause he's an idiot! It is written into the laws that no ball that travels between stumps and batsman can be called wide

Where is this written into the laws? It isn't in law 25

Yeah, I'm not having a go by any means, just don't think the law addresses this type of tactics very well or at least not that I know of

When i used to play cricket back in the day i was not a great batsman/wicket keeper but i would honestly try to hit everything out of the park

I used to do this just to irk bowlers TBO. A yorker at stumps is the way to go, Your going to not get great connection at somebody who's pretty consistent and disiplined

Also the umpire just told me straight out he wouldn't be calling wides if i moved during the bowlers run up no matter what loudly to everyone.
