No use potting individuals, our effort was woeful across the board. No running back in numbers, no apread and on top of this our disposal was appalling.

However credit to the Pies, their midfield slaughtered us today and the defensive pressure was top notch. The fact like the Essendon game we only lost by 6 goals is equally astonishing.

We are an interesting team.

With the ball going in long like it did today and players like Goldy/Currie beside him he definitely looks like it's time. Just think he's a 100 times better with Tarrant in the team. Get Daw in and watch drew lift. Inexcusable for him to miss those 2 shots when we needed him to (does it all the bloody time!)

If I was captain and played like he has this season I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror.

Lift Drew, ****1NG LIFT!!!

Lots of factors IMO
1. The 3 talls is so much less effective without Tarrant. The triple towers theory only works if the talls are reasonably mobile
2. Slow ball movement is great for defense but doesn't help the forwards
3. Our midfield got smashed today. Really missed Ziebell and Swallow
4. He is constantly double teamed because he's the only tall forward that makes the opposition worry during the week.
5. He's not a leader. The sooner Spitta gets back and takes back the captaincy the better

Personally I don't think he's cooked, but he could be heading there if things don't improve soon.

Too much of the game is played in his head: He doesn't want to hurt/offend anyone, so he doesn't hit/play hard enough, doesn't sledge hard, and is seemingly incapable of revving the team up. At quarter time he should have been spewing at the drek we'd put out, finger pointing and all, but I didn't see it.
He also knows when the team NEEDS him to kick a goal, and he cant handle it, which we saw yet again today.

I love the bloke, he seems to be a genuinely nice guy, but his start to the year hasn't been good. Don't get me wrong, he still tries his heart out, but unfortunately we need results.

With his usual early season form, not getting to chop out in the ruck (to get him into the game), being another year older, and having the mantle of captain, It's just not working out for him. I honestly think that if Swallow, Ziebell and Tarrant were in the team, he (as well as a few of his team mates) would be playing much MUCH better football. But "it is what it is".

Poor service today, not entirely his fault.

However he does keep missing set shots at crucial times, I love Drewy but **** I would rather have just about everyone else in the 21 take a pressure set shot than him.

unfortunately captaincy has never sat well with him when its come to form, and if his time has come, its sad if we have to watch him slowly get worse, being someone who over the years walk away from the game when there time has come.

Thanks mate, would love to take credit for that, but that's NMFC's plan.

On a side here we are questioning Petrie who I thought worked his way into the game fairly well.

I question another highly paid players 'efforts' and yeah not such a good idea. Seems some players are above scrutiny.

Wasn't terrible today, but I don't know of another player in the league who kicks a shot on goal from outside fifty off of four walking steps.

Impossible to generate momentum and create an accurate shot on goal.

Petrie was great last week against the Swans and he wasn't that bad today, how can you play as a forward when our skills are absolute rubbish not to mention the spare players the pies had floating back, his not done yet imo
He was good today, not sure what match the critics watched. Really strong around the ground, often the long target out on the wing for a kickout or someone coming out of the pocket. Two bad misses at goal however. Still, don't think his misses were critical in context of game - maybe the first was - we weren't going to win y the second ...

Been too soft too often, and not a leader as he wilts when under pressure. He is a prime reason why we haven't taken the next step compared to other teams.

When marking though he can be a quality player, just don't see it any when we need to and I don't care what he does up the ground as we need him to kick goals against quality opposition.

We have no one else to take his spot though so he plays.

On a side note, its amazing how quickly Tarrant has gone from Judas to Messiah (it is Easter time).

Equally amazing how our triple towers, in their various manifestations, have gone from the feared to the ridiculed. The opportunity is really there for Daw, Tarrant, and Wood to stake their claims for a regular posi in the team, with things generally misfiring at the moment. Even Tom Curran will be going a bit harder in rehab. Who knows what our KPF set up will look like by round 22.
