Its been said many times that only the last 4 steps of your run up matter.....
Drew goes 4 steps......
Roughed also goes 4 steps...

i think its the ball drop there is a tilt when he drops it from where im looking.....
Hmm i dunno, if its ball drop id expect them to spray more. Where as he almost always misses with a slice to the right.

Set shot routines are a curious concept to start with. Why you would approach a kick differently just because you are lining up for goal doesn't make too much sense. Shannon Grant was always a pretty good set shot because his run up was an imitation of a natural running motion.

I'll post this to save someone the trouble of searching for it...

This thread is a disgrace and the title of it being continually on our board Is absolutely disrespectful to a club legend.

Our new gameplan generates some of the worst ball movement going around, especially into our 50.

It's absolute chaos down there, with crumbers flying for marks, mids blocking space and Drew getting mobbed by 3 defenders each time.

Of course you are going to
lose a bit of touch.

We really miss Brett Allison who is a forward through and through and understands how a forward 50 should run.
Someone who continually gets their hands on the ball and drops marks definitely has concrete hands.

Was pleasing to see Drew clunk a few yesterday, but his goal kicking is still way out of whack.

Make of these numbers what you will:

Last 14 games, he's scored 15.13, given 12 goal assists, scored more than 1 goal 5 times and 0 goals 5 times, made 86 clangers- all the while never having played less than 90% of game time.

So....
86 clangers in 14 games....
a bit over 6 a game!!!
seems a touch high, not sure even Spud or luke Delaney at his peak wld claim such stellar numbers

use some common sense, uncommon tho it no doubt is

A more entertaining discussion might be whether Drews 1st kick for goal on the w/end
was worse than Ziebells

They were both kicking into a force 10 gale (winky thingy).

There can be only one...
It is too late now to worry too much about his form, which has been mediocre since 2012, as we have no other options at this point in time. Should have looked into it last year instead of labeling him as a good decoy.

If the opportunity presents itself to poach a KPF this pre-season it should be looked at. We have to rely on our midfield contributing significantly to our score, which has been poor this year, the mids haven't been kicking a lot of goals.

Played out of the square for the first time in a long time and it paid huge dividends. Even when not clunking them provided opportunities for Boomer, Nahas and Basti.

I'm kinda in the wrong thread, but I'll put my hand up in the "doubter" category when it came to Drew. First half I was convinced we'd seen the last of Drew... big men take time, and drop off quick.

Glad to see the use of the likes of Boomer to give mobility and game sense to the forward line, enabling Drew to do what he does best. That said, I was still surprised to see his feet leave the ground.

Worked a lot harder last night. Saw him get on his bike and jump at the ball, rather than standing and wrestling. Was fantastic to see.
