Bio:
Ed Richards, a speedy halfback from the Oakleigh Chargers was drafted by the Western Bulldogs with the sixteenth pick in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.

With Collingwood greats Ron and Lou Richards in his family tree, Richards' footy pedigree is hard to ignore, but his use of the football and his ability to break lines could see him make a name for himself in the not too distant future.

The word ‘classy’ regularly comes up in scouting reports on the 18-year-old, mainly on account of his kicking and composure under pressure, but he’s not all polish and no grunt; Richards’ competitiveness is a feature of his game that has impressed recruiters.

After watching the Port game last night I had mixed emotions on this kid. For an 18yo to have the composure and skill that he shows every week and more so last night I am worried that one day we could lose him to another club. He has that steeliness in his eyes that the likes of Jack McCrae has. Could we somehow make him sign a legal document to never leave the club.
