Just letting you know Wright has NO issue at all with his calf. The problem is mild and won't be an issue and is at the front of his leg involving a slight strain to the muscle going to his toe. A real storm in a teacup. Cheers.

Bombers rejoicing as important cog set to return​

Essendon expects tall forward Peter Wright to resume running this week after being cleared of serious injury following a scare at training last week.

The Bombers confirmed Wright had only experienced tightness in his calf, which the club said had settled well over the players’ short late-January break.

Wright gave Bombers’ fans a scare last Wednesday when he left the training track early during the club’s match simulation session with a calf issue.

Precautionary scans have since cleared the 203cm forward of any serious damage to his calf.

After a five-day break, the Bombers’ players will return to the club on Tuesday.


The Bombers said Wright was expected to be back running this week.

2MP was apparently in training last week when Langford was on radio. Langers seemed to think Wright would definitely be playing in yesterday's intraclub match sim, but he didn't actually end up getting involved. Not sure if that's a setback or what...

Peter Wright will look to secure a lucrative new deal at the Bombers after a superb last season.

McConville is attempting to broker a new deal for Essendon’s best-and-fairest winner Peter Wright but at this stage is some way off securing that new contract.
Gold Coast paid a chunk of Wright’s 2021-22 salary but this year Essendon will pay all of what is still a ridiculously modest deal given his 53 goals in 2022.

does anyone have skills and access to summarise 2MP form 2020 when he didn't play a single AFL game?
I'm keen to see games played in the 2nd team, games as reserve for the AFL side (IIRC it was something like 8 games)
then average kicks, marks and total goals

Afaik there is zero data available because there was no formal fixture, league or competitor for the seconds that year. NEAFL was cancelled. Just scratch games with players playing in the wrong jumpers or two teams combining to face one opponent depending on numbers.

Best chance you have is probably training reports on the club websites which might mention a stat here or there, but the Gold Coast FC website doesn’t have anything like that for 2020 that I can find, so you’d have to look him up and see if the opposition mentioned him in their write up.
