I expect it's in part to bring money forward while there's room in the salary cap, same as Draper's extension at the end of last year.

Also if we let all our players go OOC all at once, there's a solid chance that instead of performing they'd drop their heads coz they know they're requesting a trade anyway, and there'd be an exodus. Gotta risk it to get the biscuit though right

There’s really no point in tanking these days without priority picks. We’ll be shit anyway. Maybe get pick 2 instead of pick 4. Big deal.
