This guy could make the second half of our year quite something, assuming his excellent form from last season year holds.
I'm so excited to see him, Weideman and a resting ruck in our forwardline at the same time. Those three plus Stringer and our small forwards could really take us to a finals win.

Once the ball hits the deck we'll be in strife if we're running Weid, Stringer, Wright, resting ruck and Langford. Opposition's will be walking it out.

You would think so.

Yeah, with 2MP fit, Bryan and Flip will need to be content to play out the rest of the season in the VFL.

Yeah, there is no way we play Wright, Weiderman, resting ruck, Stringer and Langford in the same forward line. Assuming we can keep Bryan at the club for one more year, next year will be a battle between him and Weiderman to see how the club moves forward. Does Weiderman continue his improvement and demonstrate the ability to chop out in the ruck, or does Bryan improve his forward craft so that we're better at playing him and Draper instead of Weiderman?

This also depends on Draper improving his capacity to play more of the game on the ball.

Wright, Parish, Setterfield and Shiel are some pretty nice additions to the team we've been playing over the last month. If only we had a genuinely tall defender to add so Ridley and BZT can slide down the line to different roles and either of Laverde or Heppell are pushed out of the team.

Was kind of hoping that 2MP had a chance for a practice game against Norf this week, but good on him for getting this close!

Forward Peter Wright is putting his best foot forward to be available for Essendon’s blockbuster round 13 clash with Carlton on Sunday.

The reigning Crichton medallist is looking to play his first game of 2023 after overcoming the shoulder injury which struck him down just days before round one.

General Manager of Performance Daniel McPherson says Wright’s participation in main sessions is pushing the 26-year-old closer to a return.

“Pete joined in main training last week and will do so again this week ahead of a potential return against the Blues,” McPherson said.

“Pete’s the ultimate professional, and has worked incredibly hard over the last few months to get himself back to this point. We’ll get through this week’s main training session, and make the final decision after that.”
