Sam Reid

Sam Reid’s outstanding athleticism and strong contested grab make him a genuine threat inside 50. The 2012 premiership forward showed exactly that when he booted six goals in the Sydney Swans’ clash with Collingwood in Mark Grook at the SCG to win the 2019 Goodes-O’Loughlin Medal. The 2009 draftee can also play as a loose man in defence or pinch-hit in the ruck. Reid has had very little luck on the injury front in his time in red and white, but he didn’t miss an AFL match in 2019. He’s played 143 career games at the top level for a return of 154 goals.

Mssr Bedford nous a grondés

On doit parler seulement de football

(actuellement je parle juste un peu d'Allemand mais je parle français au niveau intermédiaire)
Ich k*mmere mich nicht f*r Französisch. Sie werden meine Frage beantworten.

Ps:

Don't worry about Bedders. C'est mon petit poulet.

Edit: No U umlauts now? What is this madness? * * *

Edit: Ich kann nicht eine U umlaut machen!

All I can say is that was a long time ago, before you were born even.

Berlin is the friendliest euro city I've been too and I have a few awesome German friends.

What's your problem with germans?

Germans are awesome.

Kreator, Tankard, Dark Fortress, Sodom, Destruction, Holy Moses, Angela Gossow.

Need I say more?

:)

Nothing these days but have you been to the Somme

We have a family member that died at the Somme, but I/we do not hate Germans of today though.

Except for when they beat us 4-0. We got revenge though. :D

Don't forget the autobahns ! They are good for cars and tanks.

I recently drove from Hamburg to Brussels in a lovely German car. 240km/h and the kms going past at one every 15 seconds. Every now and then I'd have to get over to let a much faster car past and I'd wish I hadn't put those bikes on the back.:D

I wonder if Sam Reid is German ? Herr Reid ? That certainly sounds German. The Reiwoldt cousins are German (grandparents) and their name also starts with Rei... Is it inconceivable that an Aryan looking chap like Sam might be German ? Was Reid once Reidenhausen ?

Don't forget he has a brother and many Germans have brothers so they may well both be German.

While we're using that Monty Python 'She's a Witch' type of logic.....many old Germans remember Dunkirk and so does Bedders so it's possible he may be both old and German. Herr Betfinkel ?

Yep, you got me. That was my lame attempt to keep it on topic.

You're right it's bedtime here. Night Bedders

yes you take a great grab. Anyone got stats on his goal conversion. Tired of seeing this guy fail at scoring goals.

The kicking for goal can be improved and will. The contested marking ability is purely talent, and I dont believe can be taught, you either have it (Reid), or you dont (White). At least Reid is out there contesting and getting the ball. And as one great coach once said, "In order to win the game you need to win the ball, the rest will follow."

He holds the ball like a 5 year old having a kick in the park with dad.

The majority of his huge hands seem to be holding the top or side of the ball instead of covering the lower part to guide it on to the boot.

He also seems to drop it rather than guide it on to the boot.

If only we could bring plugger back to the club to teach some of these guys.

Set shot issues aside though, he's got a truck load of talent for a 19 year old. Very excited about his future.

Just like to add that his endurance has increased markedly since the start of the season, he's now spending up to 97% of time on the ground. Compare that to the start of the season where he was cramping in third quarters it's a great effort.
