Sam Reid

Sam Reid’s outstanding athleticism and strong contested grab make him a genuine threat inside 50. The 2012 premiership forward showed exactly that when he booted six goals in the Sydney Swans’ clash with Collingwood in Mark Grook at the SCG to win the 2019 Goodes-O’Loughlin Medal. The 2009 draftee can also play as a loose man in defence or pinch-hit in the ruck. Reid has had very little luck on the injury front in his time in red and white, but he didn’t miss an AFL match in 2019. He’s played 143 career games at the top level for a return of 154 goals.

With Tom Harley just signed as Football Director, have a guess what position Sam Reid will be playing next year.

Yep, which given his recent performances may be all he's worth. Personally, I think we have to bite the bullet and send him permanently into the backline, especially if Shaw retires and/or if Mal leaves.

Agree move him down back.
Mal will go but Shaw may get another year with Mal leaving.

Every Swans match T Harley commentated he would go on about Reid should be moved to CHB.

Not his role but Harley should give him some tips and get him back there.

He'll either be traded, or given one last chance to prove himself in the backline.

One thing's for sure - the clock is ticking.

If he stays, I only want him to play CHB. Crap kick, occasional brain explosion with decision making, but seen do some decent handballing in tight, and of course can take a mark.

I only remember him playing 2 decent games this year. West Coast in the wet, and the 4 goals against Carlton

Harley could teach him to guard space in the backline

Bulldogs are really trying to troll us then, dangling a second rounder in our faces with a player that's got two more seasons to run on his contract.

I'll be honest with you Reid is reallly overrated outside of Sydney surprised the amount of interest he was getting on TWR.

But hey if it gets us a better deal lets lap it up :D
