2002 - 2 nd - Good run with Injuries, Cloke suspended hurt?

2003 - 2 nd - Good run with Injuries, Rocca suspended crucified us

2004 - Whatever, lost backline

2005 - Whatever (priority pick :) ), lost forward line

2006 - ? Are We hopeless or a flag threat

All players on the park, no-one scares us. Who does? Play to our best with the coach of 02 & 03, look out.

Which Collingwood supporters think we can't win a flag (and who would beat us)?

Pick Lappin up and win the flag. Morrrison and Caracella (triple) PP's.

Egan, Rusling, O'Brien, Rowe, TClo etc. can be PP's if they're good enuf. Woey would help us win a flag too (moreso than pick 53)!

PP = Premiership Player

we're a different side from 02 & 03 now mate. midfield is nowehere near as potent and untill that can be addressed we may not struggle but wont be a threat.
inject a bit of youth and speed with a hint of class and we may be talking again.

Add 1-2 quality midfielders, and then we can say we have a huge chance to win the flag. If we have a good run with injuries next year, I think we are a definite final 8 side, with a good chance of finishing top 4.
But you got to remember, the competition has really gone up a gear since 02/03.

sorry pocketrocket, disagree, MM is one of the best coaches in the AFL through his rotation, thats what everyone is underestimating this year, Collingwood wont have 5-6 old, ******** midfielders next year, they will have 9-10 part-time quality, fast midfielders through his rotation:
Bucks
Licca
Johnson
Didak
Holland
Shaw
Davis
Egan
and so on

Collingwood wont be having the midfield problems everyone is making it out to be, we're all talking as if MM is a vegetable, he knows how to rotate and will do so to keep Collingwood going in the midfield department and with what you said curto, we're like the team of '02, unpredictable, 2003 team had shown they had a classy list if injury-free, 2006 is like 2002 because its too unpredictable but with the right list all year, we are definite premiership contenders and as much as woey is hated, i agree that he should be retained as he would be better then pick 53 next year and instead of always looking to the future, Collingwood, for once should look to the next year because Woewodin isn't a total dud, he had a ******** year last year, but no one was complaining the previous year when he was up there in the Copeland.. anyway, most importantly, good luck Pies and hope we go well

I hope i'm a typical Collingowood supporter. I called it as a saw it. And i called it as I saw it this year. INJURIES INJURIES...if we don't get em...WHO SCARES US?

NO-One

Take out Rocca & Tarrant then yeah...take out out Caracella & Maxwell...both those guys will be back and will be fighting.

Bring on 06 Otherwise who scares us?

If we make the 8 it will be a good year.
I'm sick of people like you that fail to look at the big picture. People that hate Collingwood don't look at the big picture, but to see Collingwood supporters do it too makes me ill.

We COULD, at best, make the top 6 in 2006, with everything going to plan.
Another fair-weather supporter that is quick to put us down when we lose, but is sure to jump back on the bandwagon when we win. Bloody disgraceful.

The way that I see todays disappointing performance...

Last week Collingwood had probably the most physical match of any played this year. For almost three quarters of that match, we were unable to make any interchanges, no rotation available whatsoever, and one or two others that couldn't come off were hobbling as well.

Medical experts say that it actually takes up to 10 days to recover from a game of AFL football, but that of course can't happen, so rotation is very important to help survive the season. Every Collingwood player that played last week were stuffed before the game began today because they did not have the opportunity to rest during last weeks match.

Collingwood were flat as a tack today, and were far from being ready to play, while Melbourne were definitely ready to go. The injured players were not as much of the problem as well because Melbourne had players out too, but, Collingwood lost them all in a space of a week, and that ruined team balance in too short of a period of time. There is something to be said about losing one player a week, then it is to lose 4-5 in one go.

Melbourne is a good opposition, and they play their best at this time of the year too, but they have struggled in recent years in August and September. I think that if given the opportunity, Collingwood will beat Melbourne then because I think that our fitness then will be better due to the superior training facilities as there is not much difference between the two on paper.

Today was a bad day, but Collingwood are 8-3, and I believe will still finish top-4. All good sides have bad forgettable days, and there are reasons that explain that today was the day for a shocker, and I was partly expecting it all week. Good sides bounce back, and I believe that we will, and when we do, there is no room on the wagon for fair-weather supporters that are quick to put my team down!

From now on, I want to see Collingwood host Queen's Birthday matches. It was nice of Collingwood to allow Melbourne to host them to help them out financially, but not anymore.

Not always, we lost Charmen and Brown and only JUST lost against the Crows:eek:
Only because it was at the Gabba. Interstate teams have at least a 4-5 goal advantage on their home soil. Brisbane struggled and never looked like winning, while Adelaide did enough to win. Even Richmond has beaten the Crows at home, the week after they lost by 118 points to Sydney.

OMG are you kidding? Did you even watch the game? Im not gonna say that lions should have won, but comon to say we struggled is a bit silly. We played well but they played just that little bit better.
