2003 Rookie Draft

We did very well in this draft taking Carrazzo, Bentick and Setanta. Looking back who would you prefer Carrazzo taken at 2, Davey taken at 3 or Foley taken at 4?

What a rookie draft. Gee - heaps of talent there.

Carrazzo proved his worth this year, and Davey is a gun - but Foley trumps the lot imo. Will be huge for Richmond next year.

If you compare him to Foley, Carrazzo stacks up very nicely, which just shows that Foley isn't any better.

I agree plenty of players have had the opportunity to shine at Carlton as much as Richmond, but if you think about where Carrazzo has come from and how hard he had to fight for his spot compared to Foley.

And at Richmond they haven't had a decent midfielder step up for a while which is why Foley with his hardness has been able to shine. Carrazzo has had to battle the last few years with Stevens, Murphy, Simpson, Kouta, Scotland ect

So for mine its still Carrazzo!!

You conveniently left our the stats for clearances, in which Foley led the league if I'm not mistaken.

all 3 are great players for the club and i think Carlton made a great choice in Carrots

he earnt his weight in gold this year and is just the start!!!

they both had good 2007 season's .. foley plays exciting footy like the old wc judd (not as good as the old wc judd obviously) .. so he'd get my vote plus foley is 2 years younger than carrazzo

Yeah mate, i to would take Carrots but, he does let himself down with a lack of penetration on his kicks, which often result in a contest as opposed to a clean forward movement!

stats dont really portray the right image though, and i do belive that carots is a good in and under player he goes in and gets his own footy but at the same time alot of his ddisposals are behind the play and are not as effective as foleys. also i dont belive his disposal is that bad but it does need some polish where as foleys are a fair bit more on the money. so for mine foley by a country mile, i love carots but foley is just a better player cant go past him

I think you'll find that the stat that Foley would really stand out in would be Clearances.
