Sorry if this has already been discussed before, but does anyone know what jumper the eagles will be wearing for home games this season? I'm hoping that it is last seasons away jumper which was also worn a couple of times at home!!!

i presume we'll be wearing exactly the same as what we had last season........i liked that combo.

Yep, due to AFL regulations we can't change it for another year although I think we can change jumpers for the wizard cup.

I love the away one! For 2005 it should be our home strip and our away one should be predominantly yellow, shorts aswell ahh the good old days.

Unless we plotted the change back in March 2003. I'm guessing that over the off-season, the club has evaluated the success of the new away jumper and its relative merits versus the current home strip. The jumpers we take into 2005 will most likely be locked in for the long haul, subject to any truly bizarre clash strip demands by the league...

There shouldnt be any need for the club to **** with the jumpers anymore

Just out of curiosity, anyone seen Port's new "clash" strip?

If so what does everyone think?

Think ill reserve my judgement until I see it out on the field

looked **** ugly, imo. I think, like our db, it just had too much detail and not enough contrast for a footy jumper.

Long term, I think we'll end up with our current away strip, and dark navy version of it as the home strip. That's the logical progression, and once we've got to that, we have a simple, easily recognisable effective design, which can deal with any clashes, reflects the clubs history, and can stay the same for at least a few decades onwards.

The new Port jumper looks like crap. I just wish the Eagles would just leave the jumpers they have now, but with a navy blue instead of royal blue and leave them alone for a 100 years. I will never agree to this jumper clash bull, as in my eyes, I believe they are nothing more than marketing and the almighty dollar.

Jumper clashes indeed. I watched the fox footy replay of the 77 GF and I could still tell the difference in the sides and I am colour blind.

Ah the haze of time has set in. Nothing is in the hideousness stakes of the DB. You still support the team wearing them because they're the Eagles (hell I'd support them if they were wearing black and white stripes for a week *shudder*), but it still holds the high point in the hideous jumper stakes

The only comparably bad jumper would be the original Bears strip.

I always liked the old BGC pre season jumper. Striking and simple, with the eagle head on the front of the vertical gold and navy, with the white in between. I've always though those wings looked just a tad weird for a footy jumper.

The current combo is pretty good from my point of view. My only change would be to reverse the, so that the current home strip (a ripper) becomes the away one. There's a couple of reasons for this
1) It goes better with white shorts than any other jumper we've had
2) Allows us to maintain a bit more of that intimidating tradition for home games. I would like that strip to become navy but I somehow doubt it will happen.

Now sponsorship issues aside, how much better of an ochre jumper is that than our disaster? In fact, plonk the eagle on there instead of the doggyhead and that mightn't be too terrible for OUR preseason jumper...
