Re: NFL Tipping Week 6

Bloody New Orleans cost me $50! I should have listened to Jeff and kept my money in my wallet. Doesn't sting as much as it normally would as i won nearly a grand on elvstroem in the cup. :D

Minnasota keep winning but they dont impress me at all. Any team with a decent offense and good defence will take them to the cleaners. If the saints can rack up 31 against them then i shudder to think what the colts will do in a few weeks time.

As for my pathetic 'Boys, they should have had the steelers put away and they would have had Vinny not ********ed up. Every game i keep thinking can we do any worse for a QB although watching Brooks play against the Vikings made me feel a little better. I cant wait till JJ gets healthy so we can see less of Eddie "The parked Car" George carry the ball. We also lack some serious size at two of the three LB spots, time for Bradie James to start.

Big Bad Ben Roethlisbergr continues to get it done and did it today on one leg. The steelers have themselves a keeper at QB for the next decade.

Thanx for the kind words Marcuz on our BIG BEN... as Broooce would say...speshoool.. commiserations on the result Marcuz....don't forget that Staley's 26yd run got called back from a holding penalty (Hines Ward) , so whether you take that into consideration that we were coming back with some momentum and had to punt after that. My cousin (Jets fan) sends me a sms that read Steelers 'miracle' comeback win soon after the game.... I replied to say that 'Vinny Fumble is No Miracle !!' Tough game and rapt to escape from the jaws of defeat. Steelers break a 22 year drought in Dallas and coach Cowher notches first W against the Cowboys.

I'm sure you've seen the Cowboys pull Wins in a similar situation in the past so it goes with the territory of win some, lose some. Your passion remains HELLBENT ! Stay Hungry and Proud.

Re: NFL Tipping Week 6

Did you watch the game Marcuz? It was entertaining if nothing else. Are the Saints the biggest tease in NFL or what? They can fail to stop everything on defense but somehow manage to remain in a game. If they had a defence that could rank at least in the teens they would just about be unbeatable. Wouldn't hurt if Stallworth could catch one now and again.

I agree with you on the Vikings though. Their defence isn't much better than New Orleans. I'm not sure about Indy doing the job against them but hopefully a d-line will soon smash the crap out of Culpepper. Christ he crap's me off no end.

And as for the Cowboys, I'm not sure what's worse, the offensive play calling or the execution. You have less than 3 minutes on the clock, 1st down in enemy territory, and you lead by 3 points. Seriously, would you risk Vinnie throwing the ball? The past couple of weeks Dallas has made some bizarre calls from the sideline.

Lack of experience perhaps ?? ;)

On the flipside, a team like Miami would be screaming for a player like Vinny !! Same guy that torched Miami in the 2nd half on MNF a few seasons ago that saw a special guest (AS) in the commentary box slightly repeat his infamous words at half time by predicting NYJets 'will be back' and after trailing by 30 odd pts...guess what... they WON in OT !!! :D

Still rates as one of the best comebacks I've seen. Makes it a better memorable spectacle when watching it with a die-hard Dolphins fan.

LOL. So what's New Orleans excuse? I know, the Saints don't need an excuse . . . :(

They're screaming for something . . but I don't think it's Vinny. I don't know what's more frustrating, a team with a defence and no offence, or a team with offence and no defence? It would seem a rarity these days that teams actually have both. Just about count them on one hand. I think it's called parity - and it's creating some ugly football games.

They are a bloody tease. I was a saints fan for three hours and they did just enough to give you the feeling they were a chance. What really ********ed me off other than stallwoths ability to get open and drop catches was the saints defensive plan.

How many times did they come with a 2 man or 4 man rush? Culpepper stood in the pocket with enough time cook breakfast and then proceded to hit every open target in sight.. For ******** sake at least blitz with your linebackers as well every now and then and pressure the QB. Culpepper had it so easy he must have thought he was taking a few snaps at practice.

Re: NFL Tipping Week 6

Hate to say I told you so marcuz, so I won't ;)

But really, have you ever seen an NFL WR drop so many passes - and I'm only talking about yesterdays game. I keep hearing what potential he has, but I just don't see it. I'd only play him as a deep threat. It has me stuffed why they use him on so many short routes while Horn's playing deep.

I agree with everything you say about the defence. Why McKenzie was started on the comp's best WR was a mystery. Ambrose had to play on Moss on every play. Tebucky Jones has to be the worst safety in the league, so relying on him for double coverage is a little pointless. But I guess when the idiot takes shots at the QB (helmet shots mind you) after he's thrown the ball, why would you get him to blitz? I don't know who is calling plays for the defence, but why would you not try and put pressure on Culpepper? His offensive line were containing the only defence strength New Orleans has, and the line backers were caught between playing deep and being mindful of Culpepper running himself. The result was they were in no mans land and leaving holes all over the field for receivers to run into. Why wait until deep into the 4th to rush the quaterback? They had the game won, and with Moss on the sidelines, they were always going to run more than they threw. To make matters worse, they had Moe Williams with plenty left in his legs if Moore started to tire. To give up a 49 yard run in those circumstances was a disgrace.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of bad teams in the NFL this year. Or more specific, bad defences?

What goes around ....comes around.

Mind you my Rams bet is looking in trouble at the 14-14 halftime break!!!
