IMO Rawlings is almost certain to be CHB, with Darcy and Bandy roaming CHF and Grant at FF. Harris gets FB, Koops may find himself playing forward pocket but is most likely to be a back flanker, and Hargrave will probably hold back pocket with occasional runs up the ground.

All out attack version then?

Koops Harris Morgan/Skipper/Croft
Smith Rawlings Hargrave
Murphy West Eagleton
Bandy Darcy Guido
Johnson Grant Bowden/McGuinness

Street Hahn Birrs/Gilbee/Robbins

Cooney Faulkner Power Morgan/Skipper/Croft

Not sold on a few aspects (Darcy at CHF), but looks a just passable structure, with some excellent depth.

Good effort Westy
I would go with a little more of a traditional line up

B: Hargrave Croft Harris
HB: Smith Grant Koops
C: Murphy West Eagleton
HF: Skipper Rawlings Johnson
F: Bowden Bandy Giansiracusa
R: Darcy Hahn Robbins
I: McMahon, Power, Street, Dimattina, (Harrison, Garlick, Birss)

Plenty of other players like Morgan, McGuinness, Faulkner and Cooney, Gilbee, Cross. It also means that we do not have to play the youngsters before they are ready.
About 9 players over 190cm in my starting 22 gives us a lot taller team in 2004 plus several others that we can bring in

I like the depth of the team and the key forward in Rawlings really does set-up the balance.

I don't think Bandy is a full forward. He is better suited at CHF.
It is good to see some added height in the team.
I'm not sure how Alves will get away from Windy Hill to play with us. Must have been an interesting trade!!!!!

B: Hargrave, Harris, Gilbee
HB: Koops, Grant, Smith
C: R.Murphy, West, Giansiracusa
HF: Cooney (PICK 1), Bandy, Rawlings (floating role)
F: Croft, Darcy, Robbins
R: Street, Hahn, Johnson
INT: Power, Harrison, Eagleton, Faulkner/Skipper

AT WERRIBEE: McMahon, Morgan, Bassett, Cross, Birss, B.Murphy, Veale, McGuinness, Garlick (if he is not kept on as an administrator), Dimattina, Walsh, Minson, Bowden, Boyd, other draftees.

Hate to burst everyone's bubble, but all those teams to me will do JACK.If we don't finish in the bottom 2 again next year I'll be VERY surprised.

We may have height but we have NO skill in the new players that we have drafted.I wouldn't be jumping on the Rawlings bandwagon just yet.He may not even be at our club.

I'm so F@#KIN' upset right now, I'm probably over reacting. How can I face my friends again after this.....

Maybe to show my anger I won't be a member next year. This is the BIGGEST disappointment in my footballing memory.

Buy a membership u snotty nosed little brat. It's about time that

we started being a bit positive, we cannot impact the trades so

there is really no point going on and on about it.

Memberships are a clubs lifeblood, so buy 2. I will.

How about grant/skipper dual FF.
Darcy CHB (he can take a mark and he won't be jumped over and moves well), he'd feed off ok to smith and/or koops and play giansiracusa on the wing (running)
Street in the centre (since the rules changed a tap ruckman is probably better) and I bet you scotty wynd will train him up if there is any hope.
I'd also have Boyde at CHF and play johnson on the other wing opposite giansiracusa or running through the centre.

Eagle will walk into our side based on his 2nd half of last year

Thats essentially what your looking at with a few people switched around dependent on match ups.I think Morgan and Crofty will be the guys that are thrown either forward or back depending on where we need the extra tall.Rawlings will play CHF!You dont pay through the roof for a pack marking KPP then tell him to go punch ballas away for a year. You confident of Koops in the back pocket westy?Definetly need to get robbo out of there either way.

Curly, I agree! Boyd showed a lot when given the chance this year, he is hard at it and has some presence over the ball. I'd play him off the bench at the expense of one of the skinnier / softer players. Don't think we can carry 'cusa and Jordy at the same at this stage in both of their careers and would prefer to sacrifice a bit of skill for a bit of grunt.

Good work with the line ups to, I've been thinking about some and keep forgetting people or have them in the wrong spots; very difficult!

Cross Croft Harris
Smith Grant Hargrave
Power Murphy Eagleton
Johnson (Rawlings) Koops
Bandy Bowden Giansiracusa
Darcy Hahn West

Street, Boyd, Birss, McGuiness

I dont think we will have a shortage of talls looking at that side

Powers not ready for the wing just yet.Let him learn the game from half back for a bit I would think. He has to master that before we move him into a more important position.

B: Hargrave Harris Birss
HB: Smith Grant Power
C: Murphy West McMahon

I: Robbins Bandy Koops McGuiness

If we don't pick up Rawlings, Bandy to CHF.

Cross to play as a run-with player.

Skipper or Bowden may play as the 3rd tall and K-Mac can rotate into the backline.

Birss can play back pocket for a couple of years ala a young Brett Ratten before developing into a fantastic midfielder.

Sh*t.......someone down here does have some brains!!!
:D

my team for 2004 ...

b: hargrave harris power
hb: smith grant koops
c: giansiracusa west mcmahon
hf: cooney bandy eagleton
f: faulkner rawlings johnson
foll: darcy hahn murphy
inter: croft birss bowden street
emerg: robbins mcguinness dimattina

... hoping like crazy blokes like faulkner and cooney step up ... and the powers, hargraves, harris, bowdens, mcguinness, and walshs continue to improve!

My dream team would be...

I said it in another post in another post but if we could delist Wiggins,Dimma and Garlick and draft Lawrence at pick 50 then....

B.....Robbins......Harris......Hargrave
HB...Smith.........Grant.......Koops
C.....Murphy......Hahn........Power
HF...Johnson.....Rawlings..Bandy
F.....Lawrence...Darcy.......Bowden
R.....Street........West........Giansiracusa
I.....McMahon....Eagleton....Harrison.....Croft

Gilbee,Morgan,Basset,Faulkner,Walsh,McGuiness,Skipper,Cross,
Birss,Boyd,Cooney plus others........

That's not too bad....but depending on how the players are performing I could easily make 5 or 6 changes to that team, just look at the suprising amount if options that aren't in that line-up.

McMahon,Eagleton are probably the two that could be replaced with one of the guys below them

And Darcy at full forward coz i couldnt think of where else to put him if we had Street in ruck. (calm down i know Darce will ruck prodominantly however he could be Lynch like in the goalsquare)

I'm probly dreamin bout getting Lawrence at pick 50 though....
