Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon and Melbourne are the standouts. I honestly think Collingwood take it though... but obviously my opinion will be dismissed as biased.

I honestly think we did the best, but yeah, bias. We now have 2 starting 22 players from that draft (3 if we didn't trade JK). We got Pfieffer from the Crows off that draft as well.

Murphy = gun midfielder
Bower = very promising CHB
Kennedy = should be a gun CHF
Pfieffer = jury still out

I'd be very happy to have another 2005 draft this year quality wise!

All five of ours would be playing this week if it weren't for Stanley being injured. Plus Toovey who was a rookie this year.

Though I'd say only three of those are in our best 22. Shannon Cox looks a likely type too (rookie), has loads of talent but seems to lack the heart.

how do you judge it. carlton and collingwood both had two top 5 picks so they were always going to get the best talent

fremantle got two elite talents in ibbotson and warnock with picks 26 and 42. that has to count for something

You'll look back at this poll next year and realise that Hawthorn had the best draft out of the lot. Unfortunately injuries have plagued some of their players from this draft, but once they get going people will see how well they have drafted.

Hawthorn.

But they had a headstart with more picks and the father-son rule.

Ellis and Birchall are guns and in their best 22.

And they've been unlucky to lose Bailey and Muston to knee injuries.

Dowler has more talent than Anthony after seeing a long goal he kicked against the Bullants when he was BOG.

It was a beautiful long kick from 50 plus.

Dowler is very mobile for his height and weight and impressed.

I reckon Dowler would be playing forward for Collingwood ahead of Anthony ATM if he was on the Pies list.

Unfortunately for Dowler, he's stuck behind Roughead, Franklin, Boyle, Williams and Thorp at Hawthorn.

Travis Tuck can play.

Very good draft all round I'd say.

Think just about every club bar Sydney, Richmond, North Melbourne, Port and St Kilda would back in who they drafted as the best.

Pretty good draft for a few sides, wouldn't trade Collingwoods for any other sides, but then again, we did have 2 top 5 picks, lol. Got JA at a decent pick though.

not taking the piss, but this is one of the drafts that freo did good in, they have 2 very good players in ibbo and warnock, who we know is gonna be a star, and also marcus drum who is popping in and out of the side.

i went with carlton tho.

why have so many people voted Carlton?

apart from Murphy what did they get, a player who is now at WCE, and two players who not many people would have seen play.

I wouldnt say the hawks did the best either. good prospects, but at this stagek, generally unproven

Hawks picks look the best
Bris got a future gun FF with Clark and gun backman with Patfull so did quite well

It helps having 5 picks in the top 20.

Value for picks, I am very happy with how the Bombers picks are turning out, there should be 4 future players from that lot.

Based on pure talent, hard to go past Thomas and Pendlebury... Bloody priority picks.

its kinda stupid cuz everyone had different picks so what is it based on? Who got the best value out of the draft with the picks they had or wat?

The Blues did the best pretty easily. Murph is a future superstar. JK was used as leverage to get Judd and keep Kruezer. Bower has been awesome. Edwards still finding his way, but has a lot of talent. 9/10. :)
