Criticising someone else's ladder predictions is pathetic. They are exactly that; predictions. Who would have tipped Geelong and Melbourne to finish 4th and 5th after last year? Or Collingwood to finish bottom 4? Or Carlton to win 10 games?

Anything can happen.

"adelaide=unknown quantity old list coach still unknown".

Regards the "old list" - I think you will find Adelaide will have delisted more older players than any other club this year. Towards the end of the year they were playing with a younger side than many of their opponents, and next year there will be a swag of new younger recruits.

Suddenly, Adelaide's list will be mid-table in terms of age, rather than "older list".

Very debateable what this will mean in terms of how they go next season.

1. Port Adelaide (45)
2. St Kilda (49)
3. Brisbane (92)

12. Kangaroos (251)

Freo to go top 4 in my opinion.
I would take selective bets with anyone who believes they wont go top 6.
Good list that just ran out of breath, wont happen again next year.

I doubt it, didn't they miss their ship this year?...

experts probably will tip them 7th or 8th, but then again their rivarly West Coast could pretty much steal their position once again.

The best way to go about this isn't to predict final ladder but just to have a stab at best and worst case scenarios - like so:

Port: 1st-4th
Best case: Minor Premiers [Given] & GF winners.
Worst case: Long injury list and exit in the prelims

Brisbane:1-6
Best: Back to Back to Back to Back to Back.....
Worst: Old bodies and many injuries and a shock early exit after finishing 5th or 6th

St Kilda:1-4
Best: Premiers.
Worst:Young list doesn't take the expected next step and bundled out again in prelims

Geelong: 1-6
Best: Young bodies muscle up and they challenge for GF spot again.
Worst: Worse draw than this year & Another bad start plus players not taking the next step meaning they scrape into finals

Melbourne:4-16
Best: Break the curse and make the prelims
Worst: Lose all their good players in the offseason and finish last [it is an odd year]

Sydney:5-12
Best: Pick up some guns with their extra dollars and Big Bad Bazza kicks 100. Prelims if lucky.
Worst: No gun recruits, the oldies get injured and the younger players show nothing - dont make finals

West Coast:4-12
Best: Midfield fires and the young KPP's stand up and take the next step, Gardiner stays in the team and dominates up forward. Anywhere from prelims to winners if improvement and injuries are on their side.
Worst: Make up the numbers and limp into the finals again only to be beaten.

Essendon:6-12
Best: Win majority of home games and pull off a couple of away wins finish around 6th and out in the 2nd round.
Worst: Lose home games, lose away games, play like poo consistently and finish 12th

North:7-12
Best: Young list plays above and beyond their potential and they scrape into the finals only to be knocked out in first or second round.
Worst: Injuries and close losses mean a lower than usual shinboner finish

Fremantle:7-12
Best: Win majority of home games and beat west coast in the derby games, pull off a couple of shock away wins and scrape into finals. First round casualty.
Worst: Lose at home to collingwood again, lose to West Coast twice, play like poo - connoly given the Ar$e

Carlton:7-12
Best: Pagan gets the most out of more players that appear to be mediocre, Stevens, Camporeale & Koutawadafoudafides stay healthy and fire all year long. Big Fev kicks 60-70 for the year and the blue baggers scrape into the finals.
Worst: Pagan suffers burn out, the clubs mediocre players perform as they appear and the club finishes lower than they did this year.

Adelaide:9-14
Best: Recruit well, Ricciuto and Mcleod both fire & young influx of players perform, club just makes/misses finals.
Worst: Mcleod struggles again, Roo gets injured, youngsters don't have much impact and middle range players continue playing poo. Cellar dwellers.

Collingwood:9-12
Best: Win half of their 19 Melbourne games and win 1 or 2 of their 3 away games and just make miss/finals.
Worst: Buckley, Burns, Tarrant, Fraser & Licuria all involved in a car crash on the way to Eddies barring them useless for a season. Cellar Dwellers

Bulldogs:10-16
Best: New coach gets most out of club on lower salary cap and they make it out of priority pick zone.
Worst: Spooners

Hawthorn:10-16
Best: Get their act together and live up to potential - just miss finals.
Worst: Spoony Spoony

Richmond:10-16
Best: Wallace actually lives up to the ridiculous amount of money forked out for him. Johnson and Brown get Coughlan back and Richardson plays more than 4 games well this year. Kicks 60-70 and tigers get out of priority pick zone.
Worst: Would you like a spoon - so you can eat my.... nevermind.

Thats the G.O. from me people - see what ya reckon of my essay :p

Yeah... the way Essendon scraped into the AFL at the expense of Fremantle losing their last 5 games... That Essendon are destined for big things

Its a worry when your best player is old enough to have played hopscotch with Moses and Jesus.
