Gee, you'd get good odds on Geelong to finish 14th. 2005 is the year of the cat and anything below a top 4 finish would be dissapointing

1. St Kilda (7 years of priority picks doesn't keep you on the bottom forever)
2. Brisbane (12 home games at the gabba, only need to win 5 on the road)
3. Port Adelaide (Win most at home and a handful away)
4. Sydney (Will poach players off season, any one of 5 teams could finish 4th)
5. Melbourne (Younger players will get better)
6. Fremantle (Connolly's career on the line, they will improve)
7. Carlton (Setanta O'hAilpin the next Nick Reiwoldt)
8. West Coast (Another usual year, will provide a bye for someone first week of the finals)
----------------------------------------
9. Essendon (Umpires will still keep them competitive)
10. Collingwood (Buckley to spend 20 weeks on the side line)
11. Bulldogs (Eade won't put up with the crap Rhode did)
12. Adelaide (Win a few at home against struggling clubs)
13. Kangaroos (Will win games early in the year)
14. Richmond (Plough will clear out a lot of garbage, don't expect too much too early)
15. Geelong (Chokers, will be cocky about next season when they are nothing more than an average team, expect them to be the big slider)
16. Hawthorn (No leadership, no players, recipe for 2004 repeat)

nah, sydney will buy a couple of players like they do most years, also I think essendon are shopping around for some talent with some big retires leaving 1M or so in the spending pot, and hirdy going into the veterans class.

I think collingwood might shed some of their overpaid talent, as will richmond.

I fear st kilda, geelong, freo and west coast will be teams that are victims of raids. Brisbane should be able to keep the core their team intact and sydney will buy some up.

should be an interesting trading period for everyone except st kilda, geelong, WCE and freo

1. StKilda
2. Port Adelaide
3. Geelong
4. Sydney
5. Brisbane
6. West Coast
7. Fremantle
8. Melbourne
-------------------
9. Kangaroos
10. Essendon
11. Collingwood
12. Carlton
13. Western Bulldogs
14. Hawthorn
15. Adelaide
16. Richmond

Port – minor premiers again
St Kilda - should make the granny
Brisbane - who knows? 5th flag?
Geelong - will be better for the finals exp
Sydney – in the mix again
West Coast - e-girls to make finals and get smashed in the first week again
Melbourne - would want to make up for its disappointing end of year form slump
Fremantle - will bounce back after a poor season

North - will have a better year might sneak in the 8
Essendon – younger players coming through will be close
Collingwood - need another year to make the 8
Adelaide - give them time new coach etc
Carlton – no hope in hell ******** side… that’s what you get for cheating!!! cya in 8 years
Hawthorn - give them time new coach etc
Bulldogs - give them time new coach etc
Richmond - give them time new coach etc

1. Geelong
2. St.Kilda
3. Melbourne
4. Port Adelaide
5. West Coast
6. Sydney
7. Brisbane
8. Fremantle
9. Essendon
10. Carlton
11. Adelaide
12. Kangaroos
13. Richmond
14. Western Bulldogs
15. Collingwood
16. Hawthorn

Geelong will build on its form from this season, Brisbane will slide down hill after winning this saturday, Port will be humiliated in the grand final and finish lower down the ladder, West coast will start to win away from home more often, Carlton will be a chance to make the finals, richmond and the bulldogs will look good at times under eade and wallace but will take a while to settle in and build the team, collingwood are gone, have no depth at all, hawthorn will struggle with a young in experienced team, melbourne will finally get rid of the odd year even year thing they have and will have another good season, adelaide, kangas, essendon and freo will all be around the 8 again but only 1 will get in, sydney has one of the best coaches in the game and will be in the finals again, need to get a few key position players tho. As for the saints, they'll continue to dominate like this year for that early part of the season, i can see geelong and saints being the port and brisbane of the next couple of seasons.

so the eagles will get thrashed on subi by melbourne, in an odd year.

you gotta be kidding, the final would have to be moved to the MCG under the contract, and even then, that's been no guarantee for melbourne (adelaide 02)

saying port/brisbane will slide is futile. i've been saying 'scott west will have his down year this year' when picking my fantasy side since 2002, and he's been top 5 disposals in the comp every time. port and brisbane will not slide. victorian clubs are erratic, interstate sides with the home ground advantage tend to hold steadier form.

but you paid attention to who i go for before posting, no, really!

at this stage of the game i wouldnt worry about the tigers been bottom or near the bottom = more quality draft picks, then our time will come.

west coast= primed
port=regardless of sats result well coached
stkilda=ready to challenge
brisbane=older players have to come up again
geelong=depends on trade results (need a quality forward)
carlton=smokey great coach
freo=do or die season connolly's make or break season
melb=i suppose its the odd year thing again but might surprise
sydney=have had 2 seasons to impress and still lacking something
essendon=rebuilding i would suggest
collingwood=same as above, personally i think their list over rated
footscray=will improve good tactican as a coach, like their list
north=lost too much experience this year rebuild year.
adelaide=unknown quantity old list coach still unknown
richmond=will play lots of young guys, better gameplan will help
hawks=sorry hawks supporters, coach unknown, list looks a bit thin.

so there you have it right or wrong, im sure there could be few smokeys like this year melb, geelong etc, personally still too early lets see after trade period.

Thats when the Eagles were good, they are nothing like that now or will ever be.

Ever? Ever is a very long time you know....

Dockers fans would know this more than anyone...... 9 years in and still waiting for your 1st finals win ever.... your first premiership ever... your first brownlow medallist ever... that must feel like forever :D

ok, i am not going to predict my ladder until i at least see the draw, but i can give you two certainties right now.

Essendon minimum 10 wins
how?
1 possibly 2 over Hawthorn
1 possibly 2 over Richmond
1 possibly 2 over Bulldogs
1 possibly 2 over Collingwood (1 loss to the pies since 99)
1 over Fremantle provided they meet in melbourne
1 over Adelaide provided they meet in melbourne

thats 10 already - plus upsets which they often come up with (port this year for example)

Crows minimum 6 wins
