Re: Tommy the Tool

F###ing Tommy Maddox. Steelers missed a FG in the last quarter from 46 yds. Wide Right. He kicked a FG thereafter to tie scores.

Nothing else matters. With an inferior QB giving up 3 turnovers already, the game was lucky to be in our hands still after the regular time whistle considering we blotched our own chances. So after going 71 yrds in the kick off return in overtime, the coaching staff 'logically' took the right play choice to run the ball in closer so the FG attempt would be less than 40+. I can live with that. But what puzzles me is WHY BIG BEN is in uniform on the sidelines throughout the game ?? Strange.

Jacksonville have always been abit of a tough oppenent to crack for us and this time 'we cracked' for them. Hope Big Ben & Ward return next week.

At least the ref's didn't cost you the game Woodson.

The bloody Saints can't take a trick.

The refs are there to see if players violate the rule. No point blaming the refs for doing thier job JD. That's the beauty of American Football, the disipline has to be 'on the button' and one mistake can make & break a result. Usually the last mistake KILLS the fun. If I would of read the stats and game recap of the Steelers had we won in OT, it wouldn't have impressed me. These losses ARE GOOD (during the regular season) and it teaches coaching staff & others that the glaring defiences we have. Last season we had many lucky breaks, this season, it's dealing with another Lucky break and I'd take this third home loss in the last four home games over Roethlisberger being sidelined for most of the season.

On the flipside JD, the cruel loss will hopefully keep the STING alive and carry to next weeks game @ EJ Dome. I believe the Saints won there last season. :)

Re: Tipping comp week 6

Good week for me, 10 right i think, tipped Cincinnati twice (13 and 8) instead of one texans and one Cincinnati, so i dont know how your gonna score that, maybe give me both wrong or just give me the 8 points for the bengals..??? I should learn to check my tips..

Broncos are doing me proud, seen i have them the top ranked each week!!

I put a couple of dollars on rams tomorrow, couldn't resist the odds of 6-1.. so either way i'll be happy.

8-8 or even 7-9 might get us into the playoffs :thumbsu:

lol, the NFC continue to suck. It annoys the hell out of me seeing crap teams leading their division. But hey, i guess thats the NFC for ya.

Can't agree Woodson - there are some really bad calls from over zealous officials atm (not just this game).

The nullified TD for offensive pass interference was worse than the other calls and simply wasn't there.

Anyhow, I have no doubt that the mistakes in the second quarter cost us the game, but christ, some of those calls didn't help a team busting its arse to get back into the game. Our D played its best game for the season, and the offense minus McAllister and Horn (took himself out of the game early) was outstanding. You can cope with mistakes if a team fights its way back into the game like we did today but it becomes a bitter pill when some iffy calls cost you the game.

The Falcons/Saints rivalry might not be known outside of Louisiana and Georgia which is a shame because they are usually fantastic games.

overzealous officials make me SICK also. These guys are EVIL. ok, sure, one or two poor calls can rip a game apart but think for minute, don't you find it ironic that the struggling teams get these calls most of the time?

I've seen it happen way too often. It SUCKS major but it's always going to happen unfortunately.

7 - Pittsburgh (A game for the running purists - when the Jag's throw the Steelers will score)

 - that should read "when Maddox throws the Jag's will score" - sorry Woodson.

WTF happened to the running game today? I'd have thought with Ben out and the Bus back in great form that Maddox would have thrown only when it was a necessity. But to give the great man only 4 carries - was he injured again?

Nothing wrong with the NFC..you only need one strong team to win the superbowl.

Logic says that and logic in the Jags braintrust says, LOAD the BOX. Full credit to the Jags for strangling the run. That's what they needed to do to give themselves a real chance. I'm damned why the Bus was only given 4 carries. Both RB's can catch and using both in plays to confuse the D to second guess and getting a short pass option working would of been ideal IMHO. Neither got a reception. Bus not injuried. Just the play calling was banged up.

I was always weary of this week. The Jags have had our measure over the series, especially @ Pittsburgh. The bottom line was that we...>>Maddox << simply SCREWED UP !! I read Big Ben is ready for next week. :thumbsu:

03 - San Diego Chargers
02 - Pittsburgh Steelers
01 - New Orleans Saints

12 correct winners for 102 points out of a possible 105.

Had a feeling the Jags would win & I knew the we weren't a chance against the Falcons but I couldn't tip against us so I gave us the usual 1 point tip....

What about that damn penalty they gave against us, it cost us the game.
